He should rename the video and call it " How to make 100 classic rocks riffs all sound like shit"
daneyo, I'm crushed. I would expect you to (if anyone with brilliant insight such as yourself) clearly be able to read-between-the-lines on this one. :aww:

No sense of touch, timing, or tone...I feel sorry for his students
I can't say anything regarding timing. If I don't have something keeping time for me, I am all over the map. I call it playing with feeling.
Don't mistake sloppiness for feel...they ain't the same thing ;)

This is certainly true. I wouldn't say I'm sloppy, just can't seem to keep the same steady timing. I need to watch that video when I get home.

That vid was a waste of time and not something I'd post if I were an instructor.
Thank the Lord and all mighty God for your insight. Now get back to the griddle and flip those burgers - boy! It will at least help to improve on your strumming technique.
I don't have to step in crap to know what it is.

I couldn't do it so I won't criticize, not sure I could have all that memorized.

I did like how he flowed from one riff to the other without missing a beat.

But his tone was still garbage.......

you know he is probably trying to impress his potential students ( which are made up primarilyof 12 year old boys). im sure it works and more power to him.

Here is a distraction from the point:

It appeared he was using three fingers and predominately downstrokes, something I was guilty of when I first started playing electric 6 years ago. Terrible technique with terribly thin tone to match.
Another wannabe Einstein - HELLO!?!?

That's crazy. I don't do Math or Science.

Yeah the tone sucks and the songs aren't played with much feel or emotion but I think u guys are missing the point. He is just cramming all those riffs into one clip quickly back to back. His long bony finger look funny though! Could guess most songs first time through but not song and artist for each on all.

worst guitar tone I have heard in quite some time.
Come on Brad - you couldn't have missed the point all together any better. I'd expect a better response from Mr. KG!

Sir I assure you I am an idiot, I can post way lamer responses than that.

Man you guys must all be musical geniuses. I thought it was kind of cool and fun to try and recognize each riff. I guess not as exciting as some of the 7 string cookie monster videos one has to endure around here. Fukk it's only rock-n-roll.

Yeah, this sums it up for me. Thats alot of stuff to cram into one long ass piece. Im not sure if I could do that but Im WAY too lazy to bother LOL!!!

Yea, it's not about slight tempo changes. Think of it this way, if you have two drummers play the same beat, one of them clean with a great sense of timing, and the other sloppy, but still with a good sense of timing. Each take by the drummer may only fluctuate by 4-5 bpm up and down over the course of a song, but the individual hits may stray off of that fluid "grid" if you will.

Jimmy Page has been and can be considered by some to be "sloppy" in the technical realm, but it is "feel" that we're experiencing, and a lot of very cool phrasing.

Then we have the math metal cats who are precise and clinical in their approach to notes-per-second, they're bloody machines some of these players, but often when I hear it, there's no "feel".

Drummers... Hell, slop and feel and the like, what an open court to discuss. Main thing is, play with passion, the rest will fall into place

Since I only made it through 6 of them, "6 of the most poorly replicated riffs on the internet?"
