This surprised me

I taught guitar for a short period when I was younger. I had students from ages 6 - 16 at a school. One thing I'll never forget was I had this 6 year old kid who could play more natural than most kids twice his age. I was just in awe of how naturally talented he was -- at age 6! I believe he was a guitarist in his previous life and he somehow retrained that skill/talent. I told his parents to keep going with him because he had the most natural talent of all my students. That was 20 years ago and I have no idea what came after that, but it was so interesting to observe. And yes, he showed more talent than I did when I first started at 13 years.

Isn't RT about 50 men average age 60 stuck on music from 30-40years ago. I don't think RT is a broad scope of musicians. It's a very narrow band that rarely goes out-of that scope.

I don't really belong here because most of the music I like is 50-60 years old and rarely listen to anything heavy.
I definitely prefer Bruno Mars over most of the music I see mentioned here.

My wife says I like music for children.

70 years ago, that skinny girl in the Mommas & Poppas was hot.

Michelle Phillips of The 'Mama and the Papas' :: 1960′s : r/OldSchoolCool

I thought Susan Dey was hot too

Susan Dey from The Partridge Family, aka the ultimate teen idol

I went to go see Ministry in a smallish club in Worcester Mass ... we were running kinda late ....the people traffic was as bad as the cars ... they were all very colorful dressed flamboyant dudes ... and some obvious drags ...

We didn't know what we got stuck in the middle of .... till we saw the " we love you Cher " signs ....I guess she was at the Centrum the same night

My sister is much younger than me; when she was in middle school she liked a lot of new wave bands, especially Duran Duran and Culture Club. I took her and a bunch of her friends to see both, and both were filled with girls, from tweens on up.

I've never seen more women, mostly beautiful women, at a show than Duran Duran; this was in the early '80s after Rio, hit big on MTV so probably Seventh and the Ragged Tiger. Even Poison shows didn't come close.

Duran Duran did have that pretty boy thing, but I admit I do like Ordinary World. They have too much polish in their production for my tastes, but some of the music is good.

John Taylor is a monster. There’s a couple good DD songs. The bass in Rio is fucking killer.

Makes me think about something. The vast majority of men who are Pat Benatar fans are homosexuals. It’s like Barbara Streisand or Madonna. We got any Pat Benatar threads up in this bitch ?
Hey now......

I never understood the mindset of hanging around some BS place just cause "hot girlz" wuz there. If the music sucks I don't care what future hagatha christie of America is hanging out there. Duran Duran sucks.

I am not a huge DD fan, but I don't think they sucked. And I liked Power Station, but then I am a massive Robert Palmer fan. Right up until he did that horrible shit with the bitches in black dresses and short hair. When he was collaborating with the Little Feat dudes and those carribean monster players though, that shit was great.

I once ended up at an Indigo Girls concert and the only reason to be there was to see the hot fans.

There is some of the 80's pop and rock I enjoy but probably not to the level where I'd want to sit through the entire concert. Even if I got the hot girl by hanging out there and enduring music I hate, at this stage she's an old hag and you still have to keep listening to Duran Duran for decades at your home and that shit just ain't gonna cut it for me.

I was able to convince my wife that Indigo girls was garbage so I don't have to listen to it at my house.

Oh I would never go to a DD concert.

I'd have went to this show though.
