Last year Peavey released those Preamp Pedals (Rockmaster/Bandit/etc).
My question is, has anyone seen or played one in person?
The only thing I can find on them is a vid here or there on YouTube, and the clips aren't that great. Most of them sounding like they were recorded thru a Fisher Price baby monitor..
Interested in the Rockmaster one but rather not waste my time if it sounds like trash...

I was going to clone the Fisher Price Baby Monitor ..... couldn't get enough people on board ...

As far as the pedals ... they are just like the Marshall ones that were released around the same time ... op amp based distortion pedals is all they really are ...
You're better off with a BE-OD

In my opinion of course ....

Lmfao...
Tone is in the Diaper Rash.
I have a Rockmaster Preamp, but was curious if the pedal sounds just like it or is a huge fail like the Marshall pedals.

I was correct 🥳

Had my Rockmaster Pre since I bought it new in 91'... Absolutely love that thing.
Peavey has always been "my sound" for like ever.
Never understood why peeps get rid of stuff that sounds awesome only to regret it later...
Sh*t, I can't talk. Just remembered I had a Peavey Ultra 60 head which is the Rockmaster Pre in head form and said to myself, "Well I have the preamp...why own two of the same thing?".
I stupidly sold it, and as the guy drove off with it my heart sank and I realized I just sold a dead mint condition killer Peavey head. The 6L6's in it just made it sound huge and magical. That amp would rattle the plates in the kitchen cabinets.... Soooo stupid to sell it.... 😢

are most people using these Front of Amp or as their actual preamp?

I think either/or..
Peavey demo'd them into a amp but they made it clear they were actually preamps and not just distortion pedals

I was correct 🥳

Yeah.... That sounds awesome..

I honestly think you might be on to something
Have built in effects like chorus and delay. Maybe a 12AX7 for tube warmth.
"Take ease in knowing your baby is safe with the new Fisher Price monitor.
With 50 watts of output you will never miss the special moments of your little ones first Diaper filling. Plus the built in analog effects gives you lush stereo diarrhea sounds like never before.
-The tone will make you piss yourself"
