Peavey Supreme 160s are metal machines!I never thought we'd see the day where people want Peavey pedals based on their old shitty amps. LOL
Same thing with the MXR Rockman pedal. Like who would use that tone?

It's Bandit though. Supreme 160's and Bandits were 2 different animals
I would'nt exactly say sh**ty.I never thought we'd see the day where people want Peavey pedals based on their old shitty amps. LOL

As a FB friend of James Brown I can sincerely say that the Teal Stripe Bandit/Supreme 160/Renown 1-12 and 2-12/ Classic Chorus 212 all share the same preamp. It's Bandit though. Supreme 160's and Bandits were 2 different animals
I had a Rockmaster preamp and the Peavey 6L6 power amp many years ago. One gig and it was gone. Not my thing. To me it was shitty.I would'nt exactly say sh**ty.
People love the Rockmaster Preamp, myself included.
The Supreme 160 has been a go-to for many metal and death metal bands.
The VTM amps are legends in their own right. People go Apesh*t for those things. They sound awesome.
The Rockman sound??...
Hmmm, let's see......Joe Satriani recorded most of Surfing with the Alien with one.
Def Leppard recorded all of their amazing album Hysteria with one.
ZZ Tops Album Afterburner was pretty much all Rockman.
Ohhhhh, Almost forgot about Boston. The tone on their Amazing albums.... Rockman stuff..
Sh*t, Even the band Carcass mixed some Rockman sound in with the 5150's they were using to record their album Heartwork..
Did I miss any??
It's all good...I had a Rockmaster preamp and the Peavey 6L6 power amp many years ago. One gig and it was gone. Not my thing. To me it was shitty.
The Rockman was super cool back in the early/mid '80s. But you only get that one tone. That worked for some bands at the time, but I can't imagine anyone using that tone today.
Sorry man. Didn't mean to shit all over your opinions.
i love my VTM60’s (I have two). I bought the VTM preamp pedal mostly out of curiosity. Through a tube power amp it does sound like a VTM although a bit more stiff/sterile. Only really something you’d hear in person. My actual VTM just seems to have more of a bounce/woody thing. Maybe because all the components are 40ish years old.I still say my VTM60 can comfortably hang with just about any other amp out there
It looks like fucking shit but sounds amazing and seems to be indestructible![]()

It tiz....i thought the Supreme was just a Bandit in a head
