So long as you like it, that's all that matters. No point being a snob or a gatekeeper to a dying genre is what I always think of my younger years, when I would see all bands in black and white as sucks or great.

These days I listen to all kinds of shite when I take a break from metal. Taylor Swift. Blackpink. Billie Eilish. Madonna. Lenny Kravitz. Skazi. Infected Mushroom.

Makes me think of my mother and father razzing me for listening to music that all sounded the same and then playing the same shite myself.

Hearing different genres helps me to reset my ears and get back to metal. But I'll be the first to admit it: I'm getting bored of listening to the same thing over and over again.

So I listen to other music just so that I can get new ideas or just relax without being uptight and going through the motions like metal as it existed in the 80s and 90s was still popular.
