You have to take Tool in doses
hehe

I mean the answer is hiding in plain sight: just listen to their music when fully cooked
I am more of a beer person, so maybe that’s why I never had desire to dive deeper in their material
Yeah, that evolving thing, it’s like it gets stuck in that phase on repeat. Plus I am not too much into “artistic” whinning type vocals. Glad that I am not the only one. Thanks for saving me time
The Pot has a groovy lil riff though![]()
You weren't impressed by how much they could pummel your eardrums with kick drum? It felt like my head was inside a subwoofer. The visuals were cool, drummer was great, but the sound ruined the show for me.Tool was the worst show I've seen in recent years.
Terrible soundguy and FX equal to a dollar store halloween party.
The opening act was way better.

I have seen a couple live shows with guys running house sound doing the overwhelming kick/bass mix @SpiderWars was describing. Completely ruins the show for me. I remember once it was Matisyahu free tickets through my friend idiot tommy's job. By the time the awful opening act had finished I told the friend I wanted to bail after ten or fifteen minutes of the headliner and he was like "yeah".Was about 8 rows from the front at the Tacoma Dome like 2 years ago.
Would have been unimpressed if the tickets were $40, but they were like $400.
Wouldn't see again.
I may be deaf, but I'm not dumb.
Well, actually the latter depends on who you ask.
Did some tool fans hurt your feelings when you were in school or something?ha, im usually always fully cooked so thats not the issue, it may be im just not sophisticated enough to understand as many of their fans have told me, which could very well be the case
Yeah they smelled badDid some tool fans hurt your feelings when you were in school or something?

Not to mention the overuse of the wah pedal. If this means that one day I can sue Lars and Kirk for severe emotional duress due to so many missed and botched notes, then I’m all for it
I went to a Tool show, around maybe 2003-04? Tricky opened and absolutely blew my mind.
Tool indeed. This will solidify your sentiment
"Statement from Maynard regarding this weekends events:
“I’m not in the habit of making excuses for our bands choice of set lists. Myself and the other members discussed the choice of songs before the festival with me having the final say, being I’m the one who has to perform these songs vocally. My back has been bothering me lately, my throat began to be extremely parched upon arrival to the venue, and caught a bad dose of food poisoning (projectile vomiting and burning diarrhea) from the food from the initial meal. I decided to create the set list to make it as easy as I could on myself. I knew we’d receive backlash for these choices and frankly I could give two fucks about your opinions. You’re all lucky we didn’t cancel. In the future I will make every attempt to make all you goddamn crybabies happy by straining my aged voice and incorporate a different song into future shows”
Peace, love and harmony,
Maynard"
