Tool getting sued by fans

OK, I've spammed this thread enough but I had to share set lists from a similar event (311) in Vegas 3/11 - 3/13 2020. Granted this is over 3 nights but it is also over 100 songs

a set with just one or 2 songs would have been unique!!!
or tool covering a Taylor Swift song!

remember when hetfield got burned and Axl dropped the mic after a few songs. truly unique set!

I mean, what do you expect from someone named “tool” 😂

Are you guys kidding me?

This is an epic example of a great Tool song.

People like what they like. I like Tool but this whole thing reeks of rich old white dudes. Tool getting sued by tools.

And who the fuck wants to go to the Dominican Republic? Why there? I bet if they had this in Amsterdam less people would be pissed. But “you made me go to the Dominican Republic for this?!?!”

When I think of the band I think of Danny Carey first by a long shot. IMO he is the heart of that band. Then Jones then Chancellor. Maynard is way back in the shadows where he belongs. He is a tool.

I absolutely agree 100%

1. The band (Maynard) acted like a complete tool. He said his reasoning was that he was very sick and couldn't sing the 'other' original 4 songs they had for set list #2. I'd like to know what songs they skipped? Then went on social media to say he could 'give 2 fucks' what people think and told his fans that spent thousands of dollars to be there that 'they are lucky they didn't cancel the show'.

2. The fans are tools for creating a class action law suit. Who does that? The band technically owes you nothing.

I've never seen Tool live but I know they are epic productions. Adam's guitar tone is insane. I actually like Mastodon better, but they suck live so there's that. Probably good I passed on this. And I was just in the Dominican Republic about a month ago. Very close to Punta Cana. It looked like a very poor country and most of the public places looked very sketchy. The only way I 'would have gone in the past' would be to stay at a resort as they are very reasonably priced. Then that girl went missing on a resort in Punta Cana. Now a second person too. No thanks. Probably will never go back.

Reactions: Rip
The way I see it, the fans can only sue the promoter for false advertising. The promoter has to then go after the band for breach of contract. That all depends on what the contract says. Either way, it's fucking stupid.

Every set I've ever played has been a "unique" set, even if I play the same damn songs. Usually it's because I mess up somewhere while running around like an ass hat, but it's never the same twice!

These guys have been making fun of their fans and laughing about being sell outs since the 90s. This type of destination tour seemed like the ultimate expression of that, and I kinda feel for the fans that spent a lot of money to get there, but it's kinda funny that Tool delivered on the joke.

Are they that bad? Couple songs I liked, but I have no extensive knowledge. I am a simple man, AJFA all day everyday 😂

I go back every few years and listen to all their albums and see if I’m missing something, I do like the first album but after that they are just kind of eh. Their songs to me always feel like they are gonna evolve into something epic.. but then the epic part never really comes and the songs just kind of drone on and get boring. Their fan base is a unique one for sure though lol

I mean the answer is hiding in plain sight: just listen to their music when fully cooked 😂

I am more of a beer person, so maybe that’s why I never had desire to dive deeper in their material 🤔

Yeah, that evolving thing, it’s like it gets stuck in that phase on repeat. Plus I am not too much into “artistic” whinning type vocals. Glad that I am not the only one. Thanks for saving me time 🤘🏻

The Pot has a groovy lil riff though 😁

This sounds like one of those AI-generated "Metal" news articles that pop up in my Google News feed.
