False.

I'm not, was not a big Creed, Alter Bridge or Tremonti fan, but I'm gonna have to stick up for his songwriting when one of us Joe Blow nobodies (I'm one too as are most of us here) such as yourself states that he is not a great song writer. I mean come on you do not sell the amount of records Creed sold without being able to write killer riffs, songs etc. If radio stations had not played the hell out of them like they did I very well may have been a fan. The riffs and rhthyms were very catchy and well written imo, thats makes for hit records among other things such as vocals. Creed was imo one of the most overplayed on the radio rock bands ever :D It's all opinion, taste, and preference in the end though.

I'm not the biggest Tremonti/Creed/AB fan, but I do like them. I listen to just about everything rock from John Mayer to Led Zep to Aerosmith to Lamb of God to High On Fire. It's all just rock n' roll to me. I guess that's why I can give credit where credit is due

Most of us can identify one of his songs pretty quick. His sound/style is very recognizable. He's played a big part in the rock world. It's crazy to see how many people he inspired to pick up the guitar. I think that alone says a lot for the guy. I don't copy him at all, but I owe a lot of how I play now to him. Many people may not admit it, but they were closet Creed fans back in the day. I loved Creed and will admit they were super easy to make fun of. I did it too.

way too complicated imo. cool to watch how it is set up tho!

Mark Tremonti gets way too much unfair Creed runoff hate that needs to stay focused on Stapp. :gethim:

Mark always seems to be super friendly in interviews and the story of the fan guitar is awesome (the guy whom he traded with posted the story over on the Birds and Moons forum back when it happened).

I'm not a Tremonti hater, and I dig some of his music, but I can't stand to watch him play. It's ego and machismo to the max. Like the world's best frat-boy guitarist.

:hys: That's incredibly funny for a lot of reasons.

Saw Alter Bridge and Steel Panther recently, Tremonti's tone was awful - No mids and just fizzy gain. He was out played by a guy with a cheap Kramer, 1 head, 1 quad & a wig, & will someone unplug Tremonti's damn wah!

I saw them about a year ago, and towards the end, Myles and Tremonti do this solo "battle" (don't know if they still do it live), and when Myles went, his tone was so much warmer and it cut through so nicely. Then Tremonti went and it was so harsh.

Guess I didn't notice so much at first cause everything was so loud and his tone was kinda getting buried with everything, but yeah, I agree, I did not enjoy his tone at all.

+1. Songwriting is by far the hardest thing to do. I totally give props to musicians who are true songwriters.

To say the guy can't play, compose and write is incredibly narrow minded IMO. Last I checked, guitarists and vocalists are supposed to command the stage with their presence. Him & Myles both do that. Whether its in a fashion you like it all a matter of opinion. As is tone...sometimes his tone is better than others. Changing stuff around a lot will give inconsistency but it's cool to see gear whores at that level. I think most who have met the guy will tell you he's far from an egomaniac, but a nice down to earth guy. Can't ask for much more from someone with that level of success.

Not a fan of either of his bands, but he does have good taste in gear!

Many thanks for posting this as this is the first I have seen this. We met up with Mark last summer/fall when he was on tour in upstate NY, which is when he began using the V-Rock Dual Lead. Mark and I were talking yesterday regarding our soon-to-be-released "ODS" Series. We are going to synch up in NYC so he can demo it and so we can service his V-Rock.

Thanks again for posting;

Trace, congrats on the great endorsement! It sure it nice to see the V-Rock dual lead in such a positive light.

I had the same experience. He does have pretty killer tone on record though. I just don't see why you need so much crap on stage. IMO a great sounding head/cabinet/guitar combo should suffice. Especially when most club sound systems are muddy as hell to begin with.

Hey skippystz, I think my band played with you guys before ;)
