Yes, people are different!
There are some, who want to get a weapon for a Jon Schaffer sound...
... and there are others, who want to get a nice price

Well, it's not over priced if it sounds good. You got pay for the goods. Would love to hear it.

Agreed. The $ isn't a problem for me, it's the wait times I can't deal with. I'm too impatient.

+1,000 :D

Well... it really isn't a money problem for me either but absolutely zero information about the preamp, no youtube or netmusicians clips or anything besides a few pictures and a big price tag just make it a bit too much for me to put that kind of investment into and risk not liking it at all. :aww:

The Larry stuff is so overbuilt you are playing for the labor, no contesting this. I've seen and played his work and saw what tubes he uses... ;) ....is not an off the shelf pre.

Plus I have seen guys everyday buying off the rack from a warehouse $3000 guitars so I don't see the problem here.

Yeah, chunk of change though.

Can I have both? ;)

Are you going to upload a few sound clips of this preamp soon? I'm totally in the dark as to how it would sound (except for the Iced Earth reference).

@fastredponycar high price is a result of the excange rate as well. Think what mesa and peavey costs over here in Europe.

Its cheap an chearfull but I loved my JMP-1
If its good enough for Iron maiden, therapy? smashing pumpkins, and the Deftones then its good enough for me.

You goin' all rack Matt? The only reason I am saying this is because it hasnt been said but the Rocktron Prophesy II is fucking sick for the money (used that is, new that are overpriced like crazy).

I'll make some clips when I get mine in a couple months.

No. Just figure that now that I have a Fryette 2/50/2, it'd be fun to check out some pre-amps - besides the AXE. I was a little disappointed with how the AXE faired this weekend when some friends came over and we started cranking up the amps. Patches that I had been happy with suddenly felt lacking. :aww:

You have one coming? I'm jealous. What power amp are you gonna use with it?

What are the good one's I should be looking into?

Is the ENGL E530 any good? It's pretty cheap.

I owned one for a while. I thought it was badass; I ran it through the power section of my Carvin Legacy. Eventually sold that whole rig once I got my Deliverance.

Here are a couple short clips that I recorded with it, direct in:

Metal

Rock

Thanks man. I'll check these out tonight. No sound here at work.

Cool, just keep in mind that since they are recorded direct those clips lack a lot of the punch and aggression that the preamp puts out in person through a cab. Plus I'm a bit of a recording noob
