Natas proto should be done May/June this year, straight from the source.

Yeah, but how long till an end-user gets one? Wasn't the Natas proto due last fall anyway? I'd love to buy a Fortin, but they appear to ship out only marginally faster than a Cameron.

Yes it was due last fall. He officially "opened for business" in fall 2008. After a slow start, things suddenly exploded in Aug/Sept 2009. Lots of orders = a lot to do for one guy with a separate full time job.

At least now we can narrow down the time it'll be ready to specific months, not seasons

Wow, I didn't know he had another job. James is a full-time amp builder and he's busy. I couldn't imagine having to juggle both.

Mike also has a very rounded resume and has worked in the business for years, very interesting conversations can be had with him.

He is not fly by night modder.................

to be fair, those are very well-built, nice, functional premaps that hold their value quite well.

However, I feel it's like a Republican/Democrat, Catholic/Protestant, Beatles/Stones, Ginger/Mary Anne thing with Soldano/Bogner.

You can like both, but I'm pretty sure most people COULD pick one over the other if they had to.

I'm on the Bogner side.

Yeah, same here. Just depends what I am doing. I really like the cut of the Soldano stuff. The NOS tubes in the X99 really improved the smoothness of the amp with out losing it's basic character. But my Fish sees plenty of action too. I am thinking of running them together - but haven't wanted to deal with that yet. Plus I'm holding out for my Friedman preamp.
