Iron sounds loop . I've installed 2 one in a 79 friedman modded jmp and the other in my 76 jmp that I modded and they are very transparent and work like they should .

So you guys like the Metro loop? I'm trying to decide whether I need a line out, or whether the Metro loop will suffice in the BE-100.

The loop in the BE works great but what are you wanting to do?

Delays and modulation from Strymon Timeline and Mobius. Possibly a solo boost as well.

I think they all work great in the loop.

Cool, didn't really want to have to shell out for the line out.

The line out will give the the option of doing a W/D set up though.

That's true, just don't know if I'd ever take advantage of it. Seem like a lot to setup.

The chassis tipped on it's side and took out a preamp tube. I hardly feel this is like it dropped 6 feet to the ground. Either way, you are correct Mr. Willy. You are entitled to your opinion on a public forum as I am to mine. I personally feel the "fail" was indicative of the loop and not his whole product line but I can understand the interpretation. Either way, it will get worked out and we'll see what the issue is.

I also started this thread not for pity , but to see if i could get some info on making this work.

Anybody else feel that with their zero loss type loops? Maybe it is a per amp basis because my voltages checked out and my install was the way it was supposed to be.

I had a few offline convos with someone here who assisted me with ideas on hooking up the circuit but in the end it did not work. Again, more interested in it working then slamming Curt.

Just an update. Fixed some issues with the amp after the metro install and the loop seems to work really well. No issues with transparency or any tonal loss. Id reccomend the zero loss loop

+1 the loop in my BE100, which is the metro with an added poti for the return level (master) sounds awesome. From all amps I have/had, this is it!

UPDATE: I received the Ultimate FX Loop board back from Kevin. I removed the existing UFX loop from my JCM800 style amp (the real JCM800 amp I had in was a repair/mod and has since been picked up by the customer), and installed the loop board he sent back. No problems at all. I shot a quick clip with my cell phone (ATRIX which takes decent video), and posted to YouTube. Annotated it, so there is no mistake about what is going on.

Kevin, I'm very sorry you had issues installing it, or if it did not suit your particular application. That said, there is NOTHING wrong with my product. It works, just as the video demonstrates. It could have very well been something going on in your amp, that could have possibly been corrected after you removed my loop and installed the other one. Although I offered support (via emails), there is just no way to ensure a customer is installing the product correctly, short of having their amp in my possession and on my bench. If there any parts of the instructions that are not clear, or easy to understand, then I welcome feedback on ways to improve them.

Thanks for the update, no hard feelings. I guess with my particular amp it just did not work that well. No harm in that as lots of people don't think the metro loop works for them and for me , it suited my needs better in this particular amp. Lots of stuff goes down in an amp when it is well aged and maybe my amp is one of those and just worked better with another circuit. Like you said, unless the amp is in your possession, there are certain variables that you really cannot troubleshoot.

Just to clear any misconceptions or confusion, I can assure everyone that I did install this loop correctly as per the instructions/schematic and also tried a few other ways and it just did not jive with my amp. So essentially what I am saying is that i am not a total tard as far as following instructions go. I think to be fair to both consumer and vendor, this needed to be mentioned because guys on this site are so quick to jump in either direction and put their own two cents in.

That said, Curt came through and tested things at his end and definitely took measures to set the record straight. Not a lot of vendors will do that and he is to be commended for that. I will edit this thread accordingly and point out that this small issue with the effects loop in no way reflects the work he does on amps because i have stated from the beginning that he has a lot of great products/amps in his line up and I wouldn't hesitate to play one of them. I'll be trying the loop in my Sykes inspired 800 build, might work better there..

You're welcome, and I'm very glad we could work this out amicably.

I just mentioned the instructions because as an amp builder/tech, when I write I have to remember that most everyone who uses one of my products (or any product) may not have my perspective and way of doing things, so what seems clear to me, may in fact seem foreign to someone else. I learned this clearly when writing tech manuals for AT&T. My hat goes off to any technical writer. I sure wouldn't want to do that full time. And I will always welcome feedback of that sort.

Good point. I think a while back I had sent you a pic of it hooked up. Provided that is the way it is done, feel free to use that in your documentation in the future as some people might be more visual. Other than that, I think the documentation was pretty clear.
