While in the middle of deal, the seller tells me he has to get his old Mk2C down to Mesa HQ this week for service because "Mike is outta there in about a month". Anybody else hear the same thing?

Well a month would be the end of 2025.

Makes sense. Wonder if it’s true?

Keeping my KRG since MB did the work.

I emailed him a couple months ago and he said he's retiring at the end of this year.

Definitely well deserved! Ill keep my amps he worked on forever if I can help it.

I believe that others will step up and fill the gap. Im learning to be self-sufficient for my own repairs, because Mike isn't the only one exiting.

I will go so far as to say, I have a couple of amps that I wanted to send to Mesa this summer, but Mike didn't want do the mods in the way that I wanted them done, so I held off.

Also really didn't want to risk loss or damage in shipping. I'm talking about almost irreplaceable examples of Mk 2 and Mk 3 with certain features. I'll find a way to handle it.

What more custom mods are you looking to do?

And this is why Mesa should buy him out.....

Pay him 8-10 million dollars...... Or something that makes sense.

And have him train new workers to meet his standards and remain as a consultant on some level when it comes to repairs and amps in general..... In a 3-5 year contract.

Dudes like this don't grow on trees :dunno:

No surprise, he’s getting up there in the years.

I’m glad I had him get my mark iii sorted before while he was still there. That kind of legacy knowledge is irreplaceable.

Hopefully John Marshall stays on awhile. For those unfamiliar he was the guitarist for Metal Church and filled in for Hetfield in 1986 and 1992 tours and was Hammets guitar tech.

Shame, but I guess we can't expect the poor guy to work forever.

I'm glad I got to talk to Mike on the phone while he was re-forging my then sick MkIII. I've had it back from him about 10 years now and it's been solid as a rock. Still have the awesome foam-packed box they shipped it in also, because I'll use it if I ever ship a head again.

Dan, staaaaahhhhhhp.
The Mesa/Gibson Recto RI and HRG RI both destroy worlds.
I was as big of a skeptic as anybody, and now I’m happily eating crow.

Well nobody is a bigger fan of Boogie than I but im not under the "delusion' that Gibson can successfully manage MESA Inc.
I might be onboard if Juszkiewicz came back.
