I would love to try an Obsidian. I'm weary of buying one without playing though, because I already have a KSR Orthos and I have an educated feeling they're quite similar.

Ehh they’re not really that similar from my experience. The KSR stuff all generally share the same dna and it sounds quite a bit different from the Omegas. Between the Obsidian and the granphyre, I much preferred the grano. It’s more aggressive and the tones I was getting from the obsidian I owned was sort of bland. It never really wowed my unlike the granophyre.

That's what I've heard about the Obsidian, that most prefer the Grano. As far as similarities with KSR, they build—or at least supply—the PCBs. And the circuits are quite similar from what I've seen. Although I haven't been able to play one yet.
