Sounds really good brother! In terms of "raw", the VH4 is the least "produced" sounding amp in the Diezel line in my opinion. But compression? the VH4 is not a particularly "open" sounding amp and I believe that 8 out of 10 players would describe it as fairly compressed. In any case, I think it's an amazing amp.

The way I set it up I have zero issues with compression . I just don’t get it . But I also don’t crank the pre gain or scoop it . Also I boost my diezels with good old ts9 .
You’ve seen a lot of my amps . I just don’t think it seems more compressed than my most other modern amps

I know a hernets more compressed . But how I set it up it’s pretty raw . Like thst mid switch is the bane of most guitarists existence loll
I never turn that knob left or right . Stay in middle . With mid switch volume all the way up . Never turn that knob lol

Sounds great, even for a phone clip! Grindy and raw is a good way to describe it. Punchy AF.

I think Ch4 is pretty compressed, but it's supposed to be. Ch3, maybe if the compressor was set with a really high threshold and a lower ratio. It doesn't ever go splat and it retains that punch and grind that makes it so good to play. Ch2 is a lot of fun, too. The VH4 is one of the few amps where all the channels are really usable.

Who says that Diezels can't cut...

I agree . I’ve used them live a lot . Even Herbert . I think people who do have compression problems just krank the channel gain and have no master volume .thst combo bad

I think the mark 3 is a tad too tight compared to mark 3 in some ways . But it was different enough I just couldn’t get rid of it
It’s less compressed and can be rawer if you want . So I can can see many liking it more overall . But my mk 1 with 6l6s just is perfect for me when it comes to Diezel . 6l6s and a tas9 and noisegaire and I’m good . Mk 1 spongier and easier to play a lil too

I like my wizards with Uberkab
I do like my Mesa best in the BV . And the jmp of course . I like the BV way more . The 75s in Uberkab just are weird for me at times
