This. But, it turns into a slippery slope. Boost pedals vs onboard gain stages, etc. At the end of the day, get the one that makes you happiest.

Steve Fryette knew what he was doing when he chose the frequencies of his graphic eq. Yes,any eq would work,but the one designed for the amp was specifically designed for the amp.

Also note the added noise an eq in the loop can add. Engaging the amps eq does not add noise because it was designed into the circuit.

Makes sense, just curious :thumbsup:

FWIW, I have no noise issues running my 12 year mxr 10 band. I hear a lot guys complain how noisy they are, but I must have gotten a rare gem or something, because it's always been dead quiet regardless of what amp loop I run it in :dunno:
