I’ve been considering them.

me too, but can't get everything I want; that I don't already have covered.

...but their prices seem reasonable unless you spec-out high end woods, and options, it can get pricey fast. A basic guitar with solid or metallic colors is very competitively priced IMO

I can actually get exactly what I want. Just get such mixed reviews. It’s scary not being able to see and check the quality before hand. But I’m very, very much thinking about it.

yes, that's the next concern; what if you get a non-returnable dud / mistake.

I wanted an Allan Holdsworth with piezo bridge; they used to offer piezo bridges but no longer offer them as an option. Not a deal breaker, but I'd rather have another Majesty instead, even though the Majesty costs more.

I need to find some Ernie Ball stuff to try. They looks great. I just don’t know why they are like 90% signature. Wish they did it the Ibanez way and make a striped back version of the models like the Jem/RG kind of thing. I’d love a JP15 7 string without the JP15 logo. But I might just have to get over that. I play 7s mainly and there aren’t that many good options.

You've got LTD's in the thousands too... seems to me the only deals left are on the used market for actual USA strats, LP's, and the odd V or explorer. Usually barely played.
I actually think that the LTD 1000 line is still a great bang for your buck. I think they have the best guitars in the $1,300 - $2,000 range. They are well built and have a lot of modern features. Fishmans, Evertune, SS frets, etc... I think they build a great instrument for a working musician.

All of my Gibsons were purchased used. Where I think their prices are more acceptable to my wallet. lol! I would love a Suhr, but not at the prices they command. They simply aren't worth it to me. However, I don't begrudge anyone that wants to spnd the money on one. I also think the digital/ modeling world has taken off due to the ludicrous prices on amps these days. That's just my opinion though...

For budget guitars, I like the Jackson X series though for a little more $ the pro series seems good too.

The X series Rhoads get Duncan pickups, unfortunately the X series Warriors don't; both have neck through; the weakest part are the FR specials but I haven't had issues, and there are a few parts that could work IIRC, mostly upgraded string lock insert blocks vs the stock blocks which are softer metal.I also like the painted necks; all of mine are gloss finish which I like, except one satin/matte black Warrior because they don't offer may color/finish options.

Last year or maybe 2024, I tried a new Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HSS FR in Aqua Flake (I like the color) and hated it; heavy, thick body, neck was good, I wanted the maple board which was good too. Duncan pickups. FR 1000. A thinner body with some ergonomic shaping it might have been a keeper. It was just under $700 which is a great price for what it has IMO.

Seriously wish EBMM were lower cost.

Given the market price of any item is based on demand, look no further than our Gen Zers working at companies like Google, Meta, X and Apple.

I recently saw a report where Google founder Sergey Brin said they hire a whole lot of people who don't have any degree and have never gone to college. He said they all go to a "weird corner" and learn how to do stuff.

You do realise how snarky he's being, right? Just hire people with no skills whatsoever at one of the largest tech companies in the world. There are actually people with degrees and skills who can't get into Google. And we all know how well they pay at companies like that. That's basically discrimination in hiring.

Ten-to-one odds that the "non-degree, no background, no experience" hires are overwhelmingly pretty girls. Guys too, knowing how our ruling class fancies itself as one collective Marquis De Sade grouping.

I figure most of us are older guys who can't fathom how some random job riding a guy's dick and carrying his baby to be paid for by her clueless husband can make so much more money than us. Don't worry, she'll buy him a few of those $4.2k bolt-ons to keep him happy.

Before anyone jumps on me, believe me, I'm no misogynist. I just look at people like that $4.2 billion guy that Meta hired as one of the Zuckerbergs' love children. And he's just an AI label expert, apparently. These are incredibly trying times.

when you compare the tech layoffs with the requested H1-B visas, the numbers are closer than coincidence. Foreign workers who want to get into the US on an H1-B visa are often willing to work for less money than Americans, which is likely more than they make in their home countries.

I don't blame the H1-B visa workers or the tech companies, they're taking advantage of what the US laws allow; Congress owns this issue, they created the laws that make the incentives work against American citizens / legal residents.

As usual, our ruling parasites in the Congress uniparty take care of themselves and their donors over the American people.

I work in tech and this is 100% NOT the case in the slightest.

I've worked with plenty of folks with no degree (or a history or art degree) who learned to code outside of school, then they built actual shit that made an impact on the world, THEN got hired by big tech.

I can promise you the girls that do roam these halls are not the ones getting hired for their looks.

It's amazing how so many people are brainwashed into thinking that the only way to learn is to go to school.

yes i can remember when a $300 dollar epi was $300 dollars and not $1300.

I don't see what you guys are complaining about. I mean, it comes with a Deluxe Gig Bag!
For what it's worth my last Suhr Reb Beach came with a Suhr gig bag and that was the nicest made gig bag I have ever seen. It had more protection and padding then many hard-shell cases I have experienced and several compartments for strings, tools, etc I was impressed and if I get another Suhr down the road I will actually order it with the Suhr gig bag.

You deserve better, my friend. $4000 should be a form fitted case.

I have another Suhr with the form fitted case and as mentioned my next Suhr would be with the gig bag as this is not your run of the mill Gibson or whatever gig bag. It's very impressive and extremely well made, but I agree on the price of guitars getting really out of hand as far as pricing goes.

At the very least, a person paying that should have a choice.
