What level of guitar playing to you consider yourself to be?

If this was a survey compared to professional national/international artist def below average/average.

I can play pretty much anything I set my mind to. Problem being I don't have the time to set my mind to it to practice and advance as much as I could. I guess I'm OK player can play EVH, Rhoads and Malmsteen stuff. I wish I could play more classical stuff and fusion stuff.

Of the clips I've heard, over the years I would say: Psychodave, Chubtone, Killertone, Ampaddict, RichardT, Mosh, Danyeo, Nick(dawn of dream), Superunknown, Gainfreak...those guys can really rip with the best of them and then some. Way beyond my pay grade. Not to take away from anyone else, those are clips I've remembered. And probably the tip of the iceberg.

Carl's a really good player, as well.

We have a bunch of them, that still post, too.

I don't think we get as many clips these days, because not many people bother responding.

We all went to Namm party together in 2006 when Ron thal , Guthrie, nick sterling, Matias eklund etc.all played at Tone merchants in OC. wtf driving me nuts but boy that boy could play with sass!!!

^^^^You guys mention a few that I'd forgotten, I've only been here since 2012 but started lurking in 2009 when I started buying/selling modded marshalls.

I do remember seeing Todd D, who I think is Ampaddict, in Mpls back in the early 90s in a cover band. Amazing.
Maybe mid 90s? Either way, this site has been great and some great players here over the years.

Anyone that can play something I enjoy, is a "great" player. Doesn't have to be complicated, doesn't need to shred. Just a few notes in a row, as long as they're the right notes and fit the vibe, is a beautiful thing. That's why I like this place - there is a crap ton of people that can do that. That's my inspiration and why I keep trying...
