What pedals make up your core tone?

I added an h20 chorus . Cool stuff , what brand is it ? I know this pedal
Visual Sound. It does a great widen & soft doubling modulation thing while being able to completely remove the chorus wobble and mud that usually happens with other chorus' under high gain. There is also a slight mid shift and tightening that occurs when it's engaged which is really cool.

Dude . Lol that’s the chorus part of my h20 . Same thing exactly . You just don’t have an alog delay added . We are using the same chorus exactly for the same idea . Interesting huh

Dude I use one thing always . Boss ns 2 . Maybe a boost like Koko boost v1 .
Hers something new for me . Live I been using red channel of stealth gated but with a chorus ! That’s weird for me . But it’s nice sounding but still brutal
I am in a parallel camp. My amp sounds great straight in...yet my core sound is my gate. It sucks so much tone that i eq amp different and boost it all back, but the tone i get is pretty sick this way and very tight.

I'm still relatively newish to using pedals a lot, but when I am running stereo and using pedals for distortion, I've become quite smitten with the Stymon Sunset.

How boring is this? Just an SD-1 or a TS-9 in front.

Yeah, I have a gate, wah-wah, tuner, delay, reverb, solo boost, all that stuff, but the overdrive is pretty much always on.

I have this pedal as an always-on

I originally bought it to make sure my single coils output enough to get picked up by the interface back when I was using ampsims. It was so good I never tuned it off, so when I got my JVM410H, I just kept it on all the time

This reminds me, I have a VHT Valvulator v1 buffer I always use first in the chain, just a 12ax7 buffer, not that transparent (adds a tiny little bit of grit, and level is slightly higher than unity gain) but I’m so used to what it does that not using it doesn’t sound right to me.

Classics for a reason, I’ve seen gazillion flavor of the week boutique pedals come and go but those two will always be around

I just rearranged my pedals last night… pulled my eq out of the loop and put up front….. and a couple other changes. Not sure if I like it up front yet….

Cantrell wah, MXR Double Down for boosting, Stone Deaf PDF-2 for fuzz, Bogner La Grange for dirt and a boost, Mattoverse Swell Echo for reverb and "swell feeedback", and an H9 for delays.

I typically don’t mess around with pedals, but when I get the itch to play around with a board I use a Fulltone Supa trem with the depth off as an “always on” boost.

Then I go to an Amptweaker tight fuzz which is really just my base overdrive tone. It has a loop within itself that I’ll stick a fuzz face/octavia type pedal in when I want one because I think it sounds better slamming the OD pedal then it does a super clean amp.

That’s a great pedal. I got a good deal on one and gave it to my bro….trem ain’t my thing but I knew he would like it lol

Just talking for adding volume, eq, and dirt from clean to heavy my usual choices are...

Guitar with single coils (P90's, Staples, Dearmond types, and Gold Foils) > cranked Keeley Java on the treble or mid boost setting > Game Changer Audio Plasma Coil > Fulltone TTE > either a Hiwatt DR103, Reeves DR504, a Matamp GT150, or an Ampeg VT22 head.

For me it covers everything from the cleanest of clean, to dirty cleans to screaming classic rock to stoner rock/metal to thrash and death metal type tones and gain levels.

The tube preamp of the TTE paired with the Java adds harmonically rich gain and maintains articulation with the high headroom front ends of the amps that rolls back to gorgeous cleans with a twist of the volume knob. Even with the Matamp I typically set it up as a clean on the edge of breakup pedal platform type amp. The Plasma Coil is very thick and super gnarly fuzztortion type of pedal, and it stacks amazingly well with every Treble Booster type pedal I have thrown at it so far.

Also pretty important in the grand scheme of things is my attenuator, a Mesa Powerhouse I chose for it's extremely high wattage rating, variable attenuation at low levels, and because it matches the 8ohm rating of most of my cabs. I could not run the above set up without it at anything less than very loud upset the neighbors type volume. The TTE's preamp helps a bit on the tail of the chain, but tbt it sounds best at around unity or above.
