Just talking for adding volume, eq, and dirt from clean to heavy my usual choices are...
Guitar with single coils (P90's, Staples, Dearmond types, and Gold Foils) > cranked Keeley Java on the treble or mid boost setting > Game Changer Audio Plasma Coil > Fulltone TTE > either a Hiwatt DR103, Reeves DR504, a Matamp GT150, or an Ampeg VT22 head.
For me it covers everything from the cleanest of clean, to dirty cleans to screaming classic rock to stoner rock/metal to thrash and death metal type tones and gain levels.
The tube preamp of the TTE paired with the Java adds harmonically rich gain and maintains articulation with the high headroom front ends of the amps that rolls back to gorgeous cleans with a twist of the volume knob. Even with the Matamp I typically set it up as a clean on the edge of breakup pedal platform type amp. The Plasma Coil is very thick and super gnarly fuzztortion type of pedal, and it stacks amazingly well with every Treble Booster type pedal I have thrown at it so far.
Also pretty important in the grand scheme of things is my attenuator, a Mesa Powerhouse I chose for it's extremely high wattage rating, variable attenuation at low levels, and because it matches the 8ohm rating of most of my cabs. I could not run the above set up without it at anything less than very loud upset the neighbors type volume. The TTE's preamp helps a bit on the tail of the chain, but tbt it sounds best at around unity or above.
