What pedals make up your core tone?

I use the decimator x gstring, but I agree with you. The tone suck is completely benign. You just put it back in. It isnt magic, just eq
So basically you shatter the crystal lattice and then reassemble it before it hits your amp. TGP just felt a disturbance in the force.

In my metal band back in the day it was Keeley SD-1 and ISP Decimator; anything else was just lagniappe

These days I'm much more experimental and playing wildly different shit - i'd say the Alexander Space Race and Pigtronix Echolution 2 Filter Pro are the mainstays now

How's the build quality on the Pigtronix stuff kimg? I've looked at their looper a few times for practice work but I probably don't NEED one but they sure look sweet.

The loopers are among the only Piggy pedals I've never owned or tried (though I agree they look sweet as hell)

The 6 or 7 I still own have had zero issues, 15+ years and still going strong

The one thing I will mention that could be a potential downside is many of them require 18v to operate. Some of their dirt pedals like the Aria (which I love) will run at either 9 or 18 with some tonal differences

Overall I have nothing but love for them; they are one of the few pedal companies that seem to always be trying new stuff instead of just cloning shit

I have noticed as a company they seem to take some less traveled routes at times. Thanks for the feedback kimg.

Core tone is EP Booster set to unity then straight to the amp with a SA Nemesis or the Strymon Timeline with a smidge of tape delay in the loop. Core lead tone is the same except with digital delay and a volume boost programmed into the delay pedals. The EP is just used for color as it is set to unity gain settings. Adds just a slight bit of color to your tone.

Over the last 10 years I've bought:

Two Echolution 2 Deluxes. One was stolen, and quickly replaced.

Two Space Rip synth pedals. One was stupidly sold, and replaced within a couple months because I missed it that much.

One Mothership which I still have, really love, but rarely use. It is without a doubt the most complex to dial in box, but damn when you hit what you want it sounds amazing.

One Star Eater fuzz. It is definitely an awesome sounding and flexible fuzz. It suffered because it was in some fairly rare company at the time all of which I loved and did the things I wanted a bit better than the Star Eater. I had a Keeley Fuzz Bender, Game Changer Audio Plasma Coil, Third Man/Game Changer Plama Coil, Analog Man RCA/NKT Sun Face, V1 Fulltone Soul Bender, Analog Man Sun Bender Mk IV, and a Ramble FX Twin Bender. The Pigtronix was good, but damm man look at the competition.

I've had zero reliability, or quality issues with any of them.

Mostly boring mainstream stuff for me. A Boss BD-2 or a SD-1, a Ibañez AD-9 or Boss DD-3 delay. I do have one unusual pedal I use sometimes to go directly to PA, a Carvin X1 Tube Preamp.

My core tone is pretty much just a crunch type so I can usually get that going straight in. If I want to do some chugs or just higher gain/tighter, it's 50/50 between a SD-1 or my Bion Boost.

I tried my old SD-1 into my 2203 a few times but I just don't need it. When I play at home by myself, it sounds really cool but when I rehearse with the band or gig, the amp itself is just right. I like to add a delay for lead and single note lines. I'll use a Boss GE-7 for a lead boost.

Man my first Echolution 2 Deluxe was stolen too

So when I rebought it I went with the Filter Pro

I've had the Attack/Sustain, Class A Boost and FAT Drive, still have the Aria, Warhog, Quantum, Philosopher's Rock, Disnortion, Mothership 2 and E2FP
