Really practicing on getting the picking as precise as I can on the song (not the intro licks). It's not incredibly difficult but I swear my right hand covers three times as much territory as Paul's...his right hand barely moves while he's picking.

I have the same issue. My picking hand has much more movement than his does.

Yeah. I never really realized how little movement he has in his right hand till I started watching this video.

I think this is absolutely essential for relaxed fast clean playing...economy of movement. Keep your pick as close to the string as possible. The same goes for lifting your fretting hand too high also. Malmsteen is another great example of this economy of motion.
