Yes it is. That was in the 90s if I'm not mistaken

Eclipse - couldn't agree more. Can some one please back them for a tour of the U.S.?
Accept with Mark Tornillo - Fantastic
Jorn Lande - not new, but Dracula: Swing of Death is fairly new and awesome.
Steel Psnther

Another vote for Alter Bridge.

Ditto. They just kick so much ass in terms of talent, tightness, etc. Still writing good songs too... though like most bands do, they are starting to get a bit stale by now.

But I'm still a HUGE Maiden fan and think that their newer albums since Brave New World rock as hard as their early albums did.

If thinking rock…I'd be hard pressed to not mention Clutch. Earth Rocker is amazing and Blast Tyrant was incredible.

Hard to say...I'm digging Bring Me the Horizon, Escape the Fate, Gojira, Falling in Reverse, Motionless in White, Three Days Grace, Jinjer, Crown the Empire, Black Veil Brides,...

Other new, but not hard rock I'm listening to is pretty much Johnny Marr's solo stuff. The Messenger has so many guitar sounds I dig my head is spinning, have not even started to listen to his latest yet, Playland.

Another of my favorites but I know they won't get any recognition here in the states.

As the others have said, what are you asking, modern hair metal, modern rock, bro rock, metal? I like Jorn Lande as a singer, I think he is the best rock singer since Dio and Coverdale were in their prime, so anything that he's done, is tops for me. There are a lot of great bands on Frontier records, that would be more modern hair metal styled bands. Personally, I can't stand the bro rock bands, you know bands whose fans wear tapout clothes and are derivative of Nickleback/Pearl Jam/Disturbed/et al...
Good to see there are a couple people who have mentioned Jorn, as he is THE best singer in the world right now. As for the Dracula album mentioned, that was only released this year so not sure why someone said it was not recent?

If anyone has never heard Jorn sing before, do yourself a favour and check out the album The Devil's Hall of Fame by Beyond Twilight, as it is easily Jorn's best performance, and is THE BEST vocal performance I have ever heard in my life. Also his duet albums with Russell Allen are good 'hard rock' albums.

I also dig Adrenaline Mob, and while they may be 'bro-rock-ish' I can certainly look past that due to Russell Allen's amazing voice.

Naked Wizard for me. I'm hoping to catch a gig of theirs soon.

Yup. Catching Clutch this weekend in Raleigh with Mastodon. But I'm more excited about Mastodon, who get my vote for best hard rock band out right now. You could argue that they're metal but lets leave all that bs out of it.

I love Tame Impala these days but calling them a hard rock band?? Uhhh...not even close.

Also...Royal Blood has to be mentioned in this thread. Unique and original yet plenty of familiar sounds. For a 2 piece...shiiiiiiit. They got it goin on.

Great to hear something new.....but am I the only one who can't stand the pumping compression on these vids?
