What's the most critical pedal you have in your signal chain that you can't do without?

Depends on the amp i'm using

If my amp needs a boost (like a recto, slo, something with flubby low end) then by definition its the boost because the low end will drive me nuts. That could be any number of boosts depending on which amp it is.

if the amp has plenty of gain and is tight enough, then its the FTT flight time.

An overdrive? Distortion pedal? Fuzz? Noise gate? EQ? Delay?

Discuss.
Gate

My favorite pedal is my wireless, because it has a tuner and lets me be free of a chord.

The volume pedal is probably third, because it controls my "cleans"

Suhr Woodshed Comp
Mandatory for cleans, and only pedal I can accidentally leave on for dirt and not mind

Though I am not heavy on reverb, the UA Audio Heavenly plate at a low mix kills

No, cause pedal reverb is digital and I don't mess with that and the reverb inside a Twin is too touchy so I toss the tanks into storage to save weight. The only tank I really want would be a standalone Fender unit cause it has the dwell control. I might settle for a spaceman Orion though.
Dr Z Z-Verb is the shit for the man with discriminating taste in shoes, and James Tyler guitars.

I miss mine. One day I'll sell my VT22, and just get another Z-Verb to run into my Hiwatt. What a sound.

I looked at those but man they are big bucks, beyond my price range really. Even the Fender unit is pushing it and tbh right now id like to get some k120s back in action more than lugging more stuff to my gigs lol.

Bro, you need an ernie ball VP jr Tuner

It's volume pedal, tuner, and extra loop/fx loop all in one. It would be the perfect pedal for your Z
I like the maz straight in. But that EB pedal would be like cheating on the Lehle

The volume is the end of line into the mgl to turn down the gain for cleans

my MXR Analog Chorus. I'm a 80s dude, i leave that thing on the whole time. Even with my 7-string.

Id need an OD. I can get a clip on tuner technically and id have to just deal with feedback, but I couldn't live without a TS type pedal

No one single pedal. Each ingredient is carefully picked and honed...
