What's Your Favorite 6550 for a JCM800?

New production would be the Tung Sol or honestly, the EH's have treated me well. Both 800 and JMP...

Tung Sol are what I run in Enmity. Because the screens can’t take massive plate voltage I won’t use just any run of the mill 6550.

I’ve heard good things about JJ 6550 reliability.

I recently got a set of TAD Red Base KT88's and they are really good. I haven't tried the 6550s, but did a quick search. Maybe it would interest you..

Both the Redbase and Blackplate vacuum tube lines are manufactured by Psvane in China. [1]
Tube Amp Doctor (TAD) operates as a premium boutique distributor and designer rather than a raw tube manufacturer. In 2020, TAD established a specialized, close-cooperation partnership with Psvane to build custom, optimized production lines exclusively for TAD designs. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

If I had to buy new I’d start with TAD.
I’ve seen & heard so many bad stories over the last 5-10 years about new tubes going south from most of the current new manufacturers that my first criteria for new power tubes is who is the seller / distributor, do they do proper testing / burn-in and what is their support policy / record in case I’d need it.
