What's your favorite AIC tune?

Sometimes I watch AIC reaction videos. Seeing the younger generation, and often not typical AIC type of music fans, react is interesting. Most lose their minds with how dark and impactful the lyrics and music are. Laynes voice always blows them away.

I’m just coming out of a few months in the AIC/Cantrell trenches, obsessed. Finished up David de Sola’s book over the holiday, which was really great if you like analytical band bios.

Can’t pick one single song but a few that get me going for different reasons:

1) we die young
2) down in a hole
3) Rooster
4) would? (This song got me into AiC back in early 2000’s. Hadn’t really listened to an album all the way through until 2025 if you can believe it)

I find it hard to listen to the tripod Self Titled album. It's just so damn depressing. Pure raw addiction documented. And the feeling that recovery was hopeless.
I been there. When I hear it it is sad for him because he didn’t want out it seemed . He could have made it . I think some just don’t or can’t stop . Idk . It is depressing . But that music is just killer still . Tripod is def my fav album still

It Ain't Like That gets honorable mention for me, love the cut on the up-stroke, like breaking glass. Too many to choose from, really, but Love Hate Love gets me in a way that most others don't.

So many good tracks....

My favorite and also a hidden gem..."A Little Bitter" off the Last Action Hero Soundtrack.

Quite possibly one of the heaviest AIC tunes as well.

Never cared for AIC. Unpopular opinion i know.
They're ok, talented musicians just not my style.

Thoughts: There is so much variance in this thread as to what is their best, demonstrates just how many amazing songs AIC were actually responsible for. Speaking of variance, it's absolutely wild to witness the depth and diversity of their musical strengths: When they wanted to be heavy...They were crushing. When they wanted to be atmospheric..they were ethereal and other-worldly. When they wanted to be melancholy....They were emotive in a way few can touch. When they wanted to be catchy...they could insert a chorus in your head for days on end. When they revealed their darkness...It was a hopelessness and despair that simply haunted you. There was nothing this band could not do exceedingly well at their peak. This commentary may strike some as hyperbolous, but it's hard to deny through a thoughtful examination of AIC's total body of work. I Cannot say enough about this band, they will continue to inspire and influence rock and metal music for generations to come.
