Way big +1 on this. Nobody ever gives this one a whirl, but its a screamer. Way better than the dimebucker or bill Lawrence stuff IMO.

It's quite a bit lower output than the Hetfield, but every bit as powerful as the EMG 81 it replaced, and it just has this awesome attack to it and chainsaw kinda aggro mids and highs. Slightly scooped in the low-mids, but not poor in the low-end, which makes it super clear but still chunky.
I think I might get rid of the Hets to try the Black Winter, lol.

I wouldn't call EMG's boutique, lol, but anyway, how do you think the BW and Distortion compare? The guitar they'd be going into if a fair deal brighter than the one that got the Duncan Distortion, so I'm pretty sure the DD isn't quite going to cut it in this one.
