I think I have to go with Porcupine Tree, The Sky Moves Sideways through Fear of a Blank Planet, which is 7.
Dark Tranquillity has 7 too with The Gallery through Fiction, though some in there, (read: Haven) aren't as strong as the others.

Agreed on PT, though I'd also tack on The Incident, which I thought was amazing.

The Beatles

Oh yeah, them! I could pretty much dig on every album beginning to end with the exception of White Album.

Really? The White Album is my favorite.

Rush
Fly By Night
Caress Of Steel
2112
A Farewell To Kings
Hemispheres
Permanent Waves
Moving Pictures

Nobody beats the setlist that could be created from this consecutive run of albums. This 7 year in a row output of albums '74-'81 destroys all

They influenced almost every band except Zeppelin in this thread & are responsible for countless people learning drums/bass/guitar & writing songs outside of the normal structures, lengths & time signatures!

I would also mention Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, Presto, Roll The Bones, Counterparts, Test For Echo, Vapor Trails, Snakes & Arrows, Feedback & Clockwork Angels..........But then you might think I'm a fanboy!!! lol

Agreed!
x2...

Floyd and Zeppelin are obvious choices. I'll go with Opeth, though:

Orchid
Morningrise
My Arms, Your Hearse
Still Life
Blackwater Park
Deliverance
Damnation
Ghost Reveries

Not a bad track on any of them.

-C

Acdc for sure forgot about them ..

Ozzy
Blizzard
Diary
Speak
No Rest for Wicked
No more Beers

**** crap I forgot Jake to Bark and Ultimate sin
2 from Randy
2 from jake and 2 from Zakk

Agreed 100%... I'd omit the first 2 personally, as they don't do much for me (not sure why), but 6 amazing albums in a row is pretty good.

Opeth is definitely one of my favorites, although I don't care for the first two albums. What about Watershed? I think that one is epic too.

It's because the first two just drag and drag. Pretty boring to me. That all changes with Demon of the Fall.

Rancid
Rolling Stones
The clash
The Beatles
Slayer
Metallica

All these bands had a nice string of albums at one time that are good cover to cover without any filler

I would say 9 in a row by Judas Priest......

Starting with album #2 (Sad Wings of Destiny) and ending with album #10 (Defenders of the Faith).

Agreed ,,they lost me on painkiller in their defence the return of Rob Angel of Retribuition was great IMO.

I think the next one with Richie is gonna go back to the Screaming defenders style and be killer

I like painkiller, but good lord Point of Entry is terrible. Only 3 good songs.

Different strokes........I can't stand Painkiller. Can't stand Turbo either even though those 2 albums are opposite extremes. I happen to like the straight forward song structures on Point of Entry. I also think it contains some of Halford's best vocals.

TOOL. I think every album they've put out has been great, with my personal favorite being Lateralus. AIC had a pretty good streak going too IMO before Layne Staley kicked it.

This!

& maybe ISIS, and Neurosis

I agree because I think these 2 albums in specific were following trends
Turbo was kinda the pop radio answer to Bon Jovi who was big with slippery .Painkiller was kind jumping on the Thrash Pantera bandwagon.
Priest never needed to follow .
You never want to see an Innovator become an imitator IMO

Another vote for Zeppelin.......and let's not forget the King........Elvis!

Mastodon has been on fire. I don't think they've done a cd that wasn't terrific.

Mariah Carey
Celine Dion
Whitney Houston
AC/DC
The Rolling Stones
Queen
ABBA

All have had way more success than than most of the names listed here....

No one has even mention ....

Michael Jackson
Madonna
Elton John

As well as those mentioned..

Maybe not on everyone's awesome list, but Yes & Kiss also put out many albums..and Saxon

glad someone got in before me....the first 6 ozzy albums are all awesome (yes imo)...

also duran duran are pretty bloody consistent .... but then I'm a fanboi :scared:

I don't think you can list Tool as having a streak when it takes them a lifetime to come out with anything. And their last album was lame IMHO.
