had this thing sitting around for probably at least a decade now, i dont remember how i came about it or ever even playing it, but this thing is pretty great
The DN-2 is an exciting new type of overdrive pedal that reacts to the intensity of your performance. This unique BOSS pedal comes equipped with the acclaimed Dyna Amp technology recently introduced in Roland’s popular CUBE-60 amp, letting you create unique tone transitions based on picking dynamics. It’s possible to get a transparent clean output sound by playing softly, or a powerful heavy overdrive sound by picking aggressively.
I had a Roland CUBE-80 with the dyna amp setting . It was a good attempt at simulating tube amp responsiveness to picking dynamics. I also liked the JC-120 setting for cleans on the Cube. These predated the Boss Katana, and I think this CUBE technology was abandoned since then, and the CUBE amp line was discontinued except for the mini-FRFR model (CUBE Street EX)
I remember now I bought one that came broken and I think itchyfingers sent me this one, I’m sure I played it at some point but I honestly don’t remember, it’s totally possible I partied one night, posted about it than never played it again, that was dumb though lol
