I wonder if not releasing that new marshall ZW thing called "The Iron Courtain" led him to start his own brand

Guys, get over it. That video was posted by Total Guitar, NOT by Zakk and his new company.

Do you think Zach lets them record it let alone publish without his consent?

Its probably made like junk though. These are probably going to be on the quality level of Agile guitars

Off topic somewhat, but have you played an Agile guitar? I have one, and it's certainly not junk. The fretwork isn't as nice as what's on my Anderson, Charvel Custom, or even MIJ Ibanez guitars, but it's more than adequate for pretty low action. The build is very solid. Guitars made in Korea these days are pretty nice.

...As big as Zach is, he is not in the same discussion as EVH in ANY circle.

Fixed it for you. You're welcome ;)

I don't think I saw it in this thread, but it appears the guitars are being made by SGR (Schechter Guitar Research) out of their South Korea plant. There's a pic floating around with the back of a headstock that shows the SGR badge and "Made In South Korea".

While looking over some of Zakk's recent tweets regarding this stuff, his fans are eating this shit right up. "Looks badass!" "Sounds amazing!", etc.....so they'll certainly get some initial sales.

As a major fan of everything Zakk did up to the first BLS record, it's a bummer, but I haven't enjoyed anything the guy has done in quite some time. The dude's gotta have money by now. I know he invested a lot in his studio/house/compound, but still, he's toured relentlessly for years now. Maybe he's just really hoping he can pull an EVH thing and get this rolling.

So the giant redneck biker dude now sells Asian imports. OK!

I'm not sure what your saying here, and I could not give 2 shits about Zak or what he is trying to sell to make a buck...BUT there is nothing wrong with many Asian import guitars, the Japanese have been building phenomenal guitars for years with attention to detail and pride and many of these other Asian factory's such as South Korea are making some really nice guitars at a good price. Have you tried any? some are really great guitars.

I thought it was pretty clear what he was saying; namely, that the hypocrisy of a "red-neck biker dude" pitching "Asian imports" is kind of funny. Sure it's a bunch of stereotypes mashed into an assumption, but it's still kind of humorous.

YMMV

Well put!

You sir, are definitely blessed with the gift of gab!

Thanks, IndyWS6 for getting my joke. I am from Austria and English is not my first language.

Aw I see, no it was not a lack of good English it just flew over my head...pretty damn funny now that I read it again
I probably was just getting all defensive because I love and have some very fine Japanese guitars, although most of them are 30 plus years old

Meh... Not a good demo at all. I don't care for the guitar shape in the least, but that's personal preference. I'll withhold judgement on the amps until I hear a properly done demo. That said, I won't be buying one. Not my cup of tea. :)

I have a good mind to post a video clip of me playing my agile 3010 straight into my vypyr 15 with no fx or verb...
The tone on this cheap setup imo sounds way better than the Clip we just heard.
It makes no science to me why he released this video like this.

AGAIN: HE DID NOT RELEASE THE FOOKIN' VIDEO!!!

Total Guitar did.

I bet Zakk does not even know who filmed him around NAMM 15 and put videos on YouTube.

Jerry Cantrell doesn't seem to have a problem sounding good on a cell phone vid-

:D

The Wylde gear was presented by invite only in a hotel room during NAMM, so Zakk probably knew *exactly* who was in there filming him. I would assume that they had a decent crew come out and film/record the stuff to be released as serious promo, but definitely a bit late to the game. To announce this stuff a week or two before NAMM then show up and let ONE horrid vid of the gear out...what's the point?

Good post. They probably got their shipment way late.
