That's a tough one for me. Some type of Wizard of course. HR or MC2 i guess.

From there probably a custom shop Jackson.

Otherwise option 2 would be the Wizard, a MJ Jackson and a used Mark IV.

I don’t need a $10k rig, so I’d do it a bit differently.

I’d get on TGP and see which rare flavor of the month the locals are drooling over that was in that price range. Buy/flip it for extra $$$

Then, I’d take a shot on some nice used guitars on GC - bring in maybe 2 or 3 Strat style guitars to my spec (double hum and Wilkinson or Similar trem)

Amp wise, a Marshall 1959 HW or SV20. Transparent OD pedal and call it a day.

Then, put the rest in some sort of fund/T Bill mix

They kind of did (on a Les Paul Traditional). It didn't sell well so they discontinued it (according to a Gibson rep I spoke to at NAMM). You can find them used though, and they 're not very expensive.

I mean, 2200 is not "cheap" but not too crazy for an US made setneck guitar with a OFR.

I’d go to one of the very few custom builders left who can make any guitar happen for a reasonable $3k upper limit and spend the other $7k on an exhaustive smear campaign along the lines of, “if builder X can make this for $3k, why is so and so charging 2 x to 3 x this amount?”
