You’re obviously uneducated about these things.
There is ZERO mention of Joseph in any ancient Egyptian narrative. ZERO.
Of course not. Canceling people isn't some new thing, it's ancient. There is plenty of evidence for Moses, Joseph, and others in the bible. Even all mankind is descended from one original pair of people i.e Adam and Eve. It's science.

It’s funny you guys are talking about ancient Egypt and the Jews. I was watching a video about this subject…. Premise of the video was the Egyptians scrubbed their own history…or something similar. It was interesting.

The church has a two-thousand year head start on legitimizing itself and inserting loopholes and backup stories into the background to support their dogma. Debunking all their ancient superstitions and fables is a relatively recent endeavor.

Circular argument much?

Science is cold, hard facts.
That's actually not true. Science is a method of study to draw conclusions about the physical world. Just because one says "Science" doesn't make it a fact. Scientific discoveries are often superseded and revised. The philosophical heart of science is skepticism and logic.

Sort of splitting hairs but a scientific fact is something that is repeatedly observed and confirmed to be true. However it is also generally accepted in the scientific community that nothing, even facts, are considered final

Love for God and man is greater than science though. Perhaps it is a science all it's own.

According to the TV show Supernatural, this is God, his name is Chuck and he is a cold hearted wrathful, untrustworthy, petty, mean, unloving jerk.

That is an opinion though. One could certainly say God operates at a level of science are yet to comprehend, but again that would at this point still be an opinion.

As a societal norm, the burden of proof is on the person saying that something happened or exists. It is a logical fallacy to expect that something can be proved to not exist.

For me personally, finding a “higher power” is a personal journey. “Spreading the word” is not something that I subscribe to. And because of my personal beliefs, I don’t give a damn what other people believe because it has no effect on my own journey.

So to me, proving a God exists is pointless beyond believing it myself. It is illogical, and the philosophical definition of God is that even though omnipotent, even He cannot do what is impossible, or illogical.

So maybe everyone should just chill

I'm not talking about proving or disproving God using science though. A god you could do that to would be a non-god. I'm just talking about love being greater than science. The golden rule. Love God and others. Everyone is chill. I love all of you guys. Think about the blessing. To spend time with strangers who share an interest in guitars on a relaxed saturday afternoon using the internet is a pretty rich honor.

For god so loved the world that he drowned everyone in it except for some pervy drunk and his family.
If we sum a person up by their worst deeds in this life we all look pretty bad at our worst. One thing about orthodoxy that is freeing for me is that judging others is off limits. It's a burden some people carry. When we judge others you take Christ from his judgement throne and put ourselves their and that's wrong. The church is meant to be a hospital, not a courtroom. If we are forgiving then we perhaps will too be forgiven. Isn't that nice?

I can’t argue with that

God is a “person” now?
Anthropomorphizing deities is the stuff of cave-dwellers.

I'm not sure where you got the idea I was drawing that kind of conclusion with the post. Depends on what you mean by person I guess. Like a physical body?

You answered to my comment about god drowning all of humanity with something about “summing up a person by their worst deeds”.

Ah I gotcha. I meant your analysis of Noah's life.
So you just glossed over the part where god just drowned the entire human race?

Speaking of that, why didn’t the omniscient Mr. Perfect send Jesus as an atonement-monkey the first time around instead wiping out an entire planet? He sure didn’t love the world that time.
