It’s been a fun convo really. I guess by “does there need to be an improved” anything, I mean that there has to be an action, or a stimulus to drive the need to change, or adapt.

But what it did get me pondering is how we can define a “need”. Do humans need 8 billion of us to be a success? I mentioned our intelligence is able to make those “naturally” unable to conceive, able to conceive (and also those with illnesses, recover) At what point did our intelligence stop simply securing our continuation, and begin just making it more comfortable? It’s probably not the thread to go into it, but it does make me think.

While I do believe we are a product or evolution, I also do believe our minds make us truly unique
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking time to respond. I think I understand where you are comng from.

As for the billions, the harvest is great but the laborers are few. Each person is unique, made in God's image. Even identical twins have different fingerprints, so they are not identical, but individuals, each with their own special identity. All 8 billion of us. If you try to view others as created by the Lord I've found you tend to treat them a little better and be more willing to share your time and resources with those in need. If we do that, there is more than enough for 10 or 12 billion people. Be blessed.

I enjoy religious talks, and am quite fond of many parts of religions to be honest. I do try to display many of the values I learned while I was part of a congregation in my everyday life.

Out of respect for other “religious” people I don’t consider myself part of any certain religion because while I partake in many of the values and morals of Christianity, I do not believe the, for the lack of a better term, story behind the religion. Do I think the Bible teaches many great lessons? Yes I do. Do I think all of the events told in the Bible actually happened? No I do not. So because of that, I can’t in good conscience say that I am a Christian.

When you talk of feeling “blessed” I feel the same but as simple gratitude. Maybe not towards a singular being, but towards life itself.

I feel I am a good husband, a good father and a good boss, and those things often come at the expense of my own needs and comforts. It does however return to me in gratitude and slightly selfish accomplishment I feel as being what I think a man should be.

Sure I’m a jerk online sometimes lol but honestly if I was mouthing off the way some members do here, or when I do mouth of here, I would expect the same “jerky” response to myself.

I did not think about religion for a long time, and since having children, and having them start to become old enough to ask questions about it, in the midst of explaining it to them as secular as possible, I realized how universal so much of religion can be when guiding someone else, or yourself through life.

Anyways off to a grade school open house instead of cranking my 4x12 in an empty house…
