Some of you guys are really showing your age here!

Yes, our ages and the level of proficiency we shot for.

Well, you have shown that age and taste sometimes go hand in hand!

Randy Rhoads..also best tone ever on the Tribute album.

Ace Frehley for me, too. The biggest thing that could have happened when I was a kid would have been if Evel Kneivel would have jumped over the stage at a Kiss concert. The world would have blown up.

  That would have been awesome!!

This guy taught me how to write songs. Take from things that inspire you and blend them/turn them into your own.

I may need to try something like this. Have been on a major road block with writing.

 I love that amp of Doc Brown's.

I honestly know I can't say I have just one influence on guitar. I like so many guitarists and it just kind of all meshes together with what I play. But if I had to choose just one main influence it would probably be Terrence Hobbs of Suffocation even though I don't play like him IMO.

the usual suspects for me
Hendrix, Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, and Clapton

Jeff Beck gets my award for the evolving guitarist, always new and innovative
instead of the usual mail-it in solos and nothing new from some guitarists...why they die
and become irrelevant.

Frank Marino & Tony Iommi are mine. They both had as much influence on me, for different reasons.

My mount Rushmore ..

Jimi Hendrix
Randy Rhoads
Eddie Van Halen
Toni Iommi

^^^^^^^^ kudos on the Billy Gibbons reference above. His early work was off the charts. Too bad he let his tone slip away. Kind of a mess now.
Frank Marino too...always loved him. I'll never forget watching the Cal Jam 2 concerts late night on ABC in the old days. His version of Purple Haze and King Bee.....just crazy.

Shockingly, it looks like I'm going to be the first to list Gary Moore.

Iommi and Frehley? So you guys are influenced by guys that play a bunch of bar chords?

Tomatoe Tomahto. Sabbath used a lot of single string notes as well. And.....Metal is pretty much based of scales and power chords.

I highly prefer an awesome song/riff writer vs. a noodler but I will say it's another awesome art to be well versed in many different chords. Some of those are very hard to manipulate if you didn't learn with them.
