100 worst solos of all time (as reported by Guitar World)

I have to wonder about their thought process in printing that article. "Hey, why don't we piss off a bunch of guys we'll need to interview for future articles and then they can call up all the equipment companies they endorse and tell those companies not to advertise with us. Brilliant! Let's do it."

For the most part, I don't think we're going to see a lot of GW interviews from

Korn
Limp Bizkit
Living Colour
Godsmack
Disturbed
Manowar
Loverboy


However, They did rip on some pretty popular GW players, Mustaine, Dimebag, Hammett, Clapton, etc.

So I do totally agree to some degree.

As some of the guys have said, this list seems a little disrespectful for Guitar World. Regardless of the guitar player or skill, I'm sure nobody would appreciate having their work referenced as tacky, or lazy, or unskilled. Especially when the magazine had previously supported their work. Then again, GW basically gave up any respect in the guitar media when they became focused on covering entire bands (like Limp Bizkit, RHCP, etc) -that is, more like Rolling Stone or People...

But, it's just a list that is used to generate or magazine sales or hype. I have to admit, the comments are funny.

Also, a quick glance reveals at least two people named were not the person that played the solo being ridiculed. Hey, but why let the facts get in the way of their fun.

Some odd ones on there too...I always thought the intro to Yankee Rose was way cool.
The Roy Buchannon solo flat out rules.
As is the Live Walk This solo...

And the Autograph tune has a heck of a tapping solo...

My 2 picks for solo can do without would be Scorpions Holiday and especially Asia Heat Of The Moment!

I remember when one of the magazines interviewed Rudy Schenker, and they asked "did you realize your guitar was out of tune on Holiday?".

I don't know if it's on the list but Jerry Cantrell has a few questionable acoustic solos on some of the Alice in Chains stuff. Nothing worse then bending strings flat on acoustic.
