I just prefer to called it the shit hole, I've played about 500 gigs with the top slant cab all through out the 90's mostly.
I paid my dues, I'm retired now.
It was heavy enough one cab, I can't imagine logging two of these things around from club to club.

...so you bought a second cab to make a full stack when you started playing exclusively at home? I see your logic is as shaky as your timing.

I just don't get it. What possible benefit would there be to having two 4x12 cabs when you're just playing in your basement?

Okay ??

Dude, it's just a little sound clip I whipped up.
Don't take it so seriously, I'm not cuttin' a record in the studio.

The older guys will know what I'm talking about here... It's been my experience, that a stacked rig results in a huge improvement in perceived tone...especially in the mids. Cabinet doubling adds something like 3db, but the increased dispersion actually sounds like a slight volume drop. Per my experience, no amount of equalizing can substitute the addition of that top cabinet. If you want that "wall of sound" sound, get busy stacking that rig!

I've played full stacks in mid-sized clubs and found them completely overkill even there. Nevermind in a damn house.

I have got two 4x12's and getting two more. I never play my rig above 1 or maybe less. You can barely hear it when I am playing. I think it just looks cool.

Try a 4x12 closed bottom paired with a 2x12 semi-open on top. This is a nice compromise, and it sounds great!

I (stupidly) sold my 4x12 bottom cab last year, but I did manage to secure the original Cornford factory 4x12 cabinet schematics last week, plus enough original Kotzen black tolex to complete 2 x 4x12 cabs.

Nor will you get it until you try it. If he is having fun, that is all that matters.

What do you play through?

Ordinarily? A Mesa Mark IV through a single no-name 4x12 cab. More than enough for band practices and gigs. The full stack was a tour backline with Peavey 5150 heads and some sort of JCM-series Marshall cabs.

Are you kidding? You're giving the OP shit about playing a Marshall stack, while you're playing a Boogie Mark IV half-stack? Comparing cabs equally, adding an additional cabinet adds only 3db (dispersed). Never mind the 4x12... An EVM loaded 1x12 Boogie is one of the loudest guitar amplifiers on Terra.

Nice choice on the Mark IV btw... One of best gigging amps I've ever owned.

Thank you for all the kindness, brother !!

Sick tone.

Sick chops.

and lastly, you know you're doin' it right when the haters come out!~

Don't stop, I know I'm not speaking only for myself when I saw we're looking forward to more vids!~

It's loud, but it's also being used in a band context, not in a bedroom setting (If I do that, I only use the cab as a load and use the silent recording out into my sound card.) He's self-admittedly retired from the band scene.

But meh. It's not my money, or space, or back muscles, or neighbors. I wouldn't have given two shits if he weren't Charveldan without the fake Oakleys and handshakes.
