I found them to be hit or miss back in the day...I thought Charvels were far better. Kramer was fortunate to have the Floyd Rose distribution rights...I don't think they would have been near as big as they were without it (although Eddie's endorsement helped greatly, it probably never would have happened without the Floyd deal).
One thing that bugged me was that they were touted as being made in the US when in reality the parts were made by ESP and assembled in NJ. Although they still made some good guitars, they were very misleading about their origins. The guitars that they made for artists were typically handbuilt and nothing like the production models...in fact Tom Anderson built necks for several endorsees, including the banana head that was on Eddie's Frankenstein during that era.
I think the one Russ plays is an old one IIRC.
