Ted Nugent was using 5150s in the late 90s and early 2000sOr even a classic rock album or something. My friend had a block letter 5150 and cab when they came out, I was young and I always remember playing it and it just sounded amazing. It actually made me want a halfstack because I felt the power.
Could work for thatI wonder what a 12at7 in the v1 would do hm hmm
For such I high gain amp, I wonder what clarity and lower gain chunk that would give it, might be a cool experimentCould work for that
Yiu never know . But some country guy probably hasFor such I high gain amp, I wonder what clarity and lower gain chunk that would give it, might be a cool experiment
To me, the ultimate 5150/savage 120 tone, maybe even more so than clayman for me:
It’s incredible, an incredible album period. That ending riff/breakdown will make you blow your head off. This ruled at the time, still does.
If you look close at the input jacks, there is one labelled “Normal Gain”. That is the one I always used. Green Channel, crunch mode, normal gain and an SD-1. Great sound….I wonder what a 12at7 in the v1 would do hm hmm
CAE 3+ preamp/rack set upI heard Megadeth's 1997 album Cryptic Writings was recorded with one... not sure how true that is?
Probably heartwork but there was so much other factors with that, including the mega cab they built.
TBDM but same deal.
Sylosis had some pretty killer tone with the mids on 1.
Cryptic writings and risk both are 5150I heard Megadeth's 1997 album Cryptic Writings was recorded with one... not sure how true that is? But if it is?? that is the one and only album with a redeemable 5150 tone. The others suck, including Carcass Heartwork and Machine Head. I mean, I can't think of any tones that I'd like to have, they all sound like millions of bees...
They did use 5150 for main toneCAE 3+ preamp/rack set up
I’m just remembering from a magazine article from a gazillion years ago. I don’t remember a mention of the 5150.They did use 5150 for main tone
The producer Dan huff made them use itI’m just remembering from a magazine article from a gazillion years ago. I don’t remember a mention of the 5150.
I liked Steve Stevens’ tone on this album.(from the pictures in the cd sleeve, he was using 5150s at this time)
I think he started using the 5150 amp while on tour with VH, after the Exposed album was recordedVince Neil Exposed still have the best OG 5150 tone ever . What’s yours
