Mark Evans. He was with them up to ‘77. His book about his time with them is a pretty good read.Who’s that Mongoloid on bass?
I liked the mesa years also…..If they were ever not going to use a Marshall then I'd absolutely assume they'd pick Orange. Still sounds cool.
Not sure. They had a different drummer then also…. Not the bald dude… some other guy….Fly on the Wall tone was cool. What were they using then? Lots of gain on that one.
Yeah they still pop great on camera! That’s only for the TV show. In the early and mid 70s orange was all over the TV but that was just back line for the shows performances.
Sabbath has a pretty famous spot where they’re playing paranoid and there’s an orange back line, same with some Stevie Wonder stuff.
All the same, I wish Orange would do some authentic OR80/120’s and the Master volume versions too.
Simon Wright. He went on to play for Dio for a while after leaving AC/DC. He joined for the Flick of The Switch Tour because he’s playing in that rehearsal footage where they play a bunch of the songs. Not sure. They had a different drummer then also…. Not the bald dude… some other guy….
It definitely has that sound of “more”. Maybe Angus heavily used his wireless booster but it certainly is their most screaming lead and heavy rhythm tone they’ve ever got. I love it.Fly on the Wall tone was cool. What were they using then? Lots of gain on that one.
Yep, he is on the Live in NYC video if i remember correctly.Simon Wright. He went on to play for Dio for a while after leaving AC/DC. He joined for the Flick of The Switch Tour because he’s playing in that rehearsal footage where they play a bunch of the songs.
I think they had just arrived there and didn’t have their own stuff yet . But I thought it was just a fake back line until I saw angus using the cabs to get his feedbackIf they were ever not going to use a Marshall then I'd absolutely assume they'd pick Orange. Still sounds cool.
They did use 800s on fly on the wall. You can actually see MALCOM actually using a new jcm 800 in the flick of the switch rehearsalsIt definitely has that sound of “more”. Maybe Angus heavily used his wireless booster but it certainly is their most screaming lead and heavy rhythm tone they’ve ever got. I love it.
There's a word that needs a comeback in 2025. Describes a lot of modern society.Who’s that Mongoloid on bass?
