Really like them. I hear a little touch of Freddie Mercury in Brent's voice. Anyone else?

I don't hear that, but there's a strength, a density to it that makes you stop and listen.

Love me some Shinedown. Been into them since The Leave a Whisper album came out. I'm actually in a Shinedown tribute band called The Sound of Madness- A Tribute to Shinedown. Here's a little clip of the ending to Diamond Eyes to close our set. Crappy cell phone vid but...

Good job. Dig the guitar too, best of both worlds!

Thanks! It definitely turns a lot of heads. Most people have no clue who the guitar is associted with they just think it's really cool. If all people from the show remember was that the guitar player had a cool guitar... I'm down.
I really dig Brent's lyrics. They've meant a lot to me personally. Live he definitely can't nail some of the stuff from the albums but I can't hold that against the man. That's some tough stuff to nail live. Gotta be a bitch on the ole vocal cords giggin everynight or so singing that stuff. I'm looking forward to the new album coming out beginning of the next year. I'm pretty sure Diamond Eyes was written with the current lineup with Zach Myers on guitar. I dig that tune so I hope the new material is cool too.

Their current lineup 'feel's like a family and Im interested so see how that comes thru with the records. Wish nothing but the best for this band...they are fan friendly, talented, dedicated individuals. Proud of Brent and being drug free the past years.. Looking forward to the album and hoping they bring something new to the table.. I happen to think that 'her name is Alice' is 1 of their better songs in the past 6yrs.. Eric on keys, Brent just spitting lyrics..THAT song I 'feel'. Cheerz....

I could run this track on repeat for hours and never get tired of it, one of my favs.

I'm personally a huge shinedown fan and have been since the beginning. It took me a bit to appreciate the us and them record though. It just wasn't what I expected from them as a follow up to leave a whisper but it is a good album!! I'm hoping with this new album they will actually sound like a cohesive unit again, that was lacking a bit onus and them. Saw them live on the sound of madness your and I thought they were great!! Not many musicians can replicate what they did in the studio and Brent is no exception! Regardless they are all hella showmen and the set I thought was pretty kick ass!! Definetly would live to see them again. And Zach Myers is way under rated if rated at all. He is a great guitar player.

Brett is good in the studio. I have seen them live and he was having some pitch issues. But, cool band from FL that I followed since the first release, "Fly from the Inside". When the guitarist, Todd, left, I sort of lost interest though.

Steve

you hit the nail on the head, Steve. Brent was dead nuts on when they were touring the first record. after 2.5 years of straight touring his voice was shot, and it's never been the same live. Jasin was a great guitarist, and an even better performer. all those guys left it all on stage, awesome to see. went slowly downhill after the first record, IMHO.

according to an interview i saw, 2 of Brents biggest inspirations musically were Otis Redding (sp?) and Chris Cornell

fun factoid, original bassist Brad Stewart also left eventually, he and Jasin are now both playing in Fuel
