And I already answered You, it's not My fault You cant comprehend My answer..... Now kindly fuck off.
Why are you getting so upset and cursing at me over a simple question? There's no need for that.

Sounds great.... In the recording and samples.

Good stuff.
Jim Martin's guitars on that album are freaking rippin! Some of my favorites of all time. I believe he may have just eq'd and boosted 2203 marshalls on those tracks.

Well there is no need to continue to ask the same shit and be annoying expecting a diff answer or response....

Youve already been answered if You don't understand the reasoning behind My answer or don't like it just stop doing this annoying BS...... It's not so hard to stop being annoying and stop your BS is it?

But youre proving otherwise it seems.

A cranked plexi is visceral and raw. A cranked twin can get painful. A big GA-50 or 200 rhythm king can fill the hell out of a big room or theater; a hiwatt's headroom just keeps going and going and going and doesn't stop, and cranking one up is well into "dangerous permanent hearing damage" territory

Precisely why GIlmour has used them for years; they’re just clean platforms he can feed Big Muffs into and crank without farting out.

I haven’t actually played a HiWatt yet, I’ve only seen one in person a couple times. I have to play through a DR103 at some point just due to the Gilmour thing, but I’m also interested in that high gainer the dude from Cattle Decap is using.

The high gainer is quite good but AFAIK isn't in any way related to the old ones circuit wise

the 103 and 504 are very, very different things

Everyone should play one at least once

I didn't know being asked to give an explanation for your contradiction would have been so upsetting to you. My apologies.
Well youve already been given one..... Do with it what You Will and stop being bothersome..... Now shoo....

My boss has done a lot of good work on getting me to calm down and not suffer fools so strongly, she’s very much a “Just remember, everyone is doing the best they can!” type and overall, I don’t disagree.

But then you come across someone like The Kid and you try applying that same logic and if you can stop yourself from getting swallowed by the massive hole of anxiety that comes along with the thought that “This is someone’s best….”, you’re not really left with anything positive.

Okay, I'll leave it as my assumption that you've never heard, played or seen a stock JCM800 in the room holds true then. That's what your "explanations" point to anyway.

Here is what is really funny. He posted a Sweetwater ad for Magnatone

....with an item in the cart

I bought one. I paid in full, but it never shipped, they said it was a mistake, gave me a full refund and an $100 gift card for the inconvenience. Fine with me, I have a tons of amps here already, including an '86 50w 800, so no big deal.

But unlike Zzounds, this thread delivers. Holy carp... lol

Yeah Im not going to Say I don't like the sound on a recording and it is a great sound..... But yeah Even Kerry Kings 800 for example it was stock but it only sounded great because the components were within tolerance..... It was the perfect 800 and not all or many were perfect or as good sounding.

But short of that or a modified one IME it's just hard to dial one in and well it makes sense why players used pedals or went further and modified them. The goods are there for sure and the sound is there, it just can be elusive sometimes unfortunately to get that great sound on one for said reasons sometimes and sometimes yeah it's just ones jam and what they are looking for and Works for them.

Congratulations on coming up with an explanation that makes You happy and have fun..... Such as with amps and gear or life in general thats what it's all about.

Cheers.

Slash used a modded jcm 800, then moved to a vm which is another jcm 800 liniage, then used jubilees which again are based on a jcm 800.

Lynch used superlead and jcm 800.
Umm, no. Maybe learn how to read schematics.
VM is nothing like a JCM800 2203 it is a Superlead type circuit, Jubilee is also not a 2203.

Lynch has used everything. Most often a 4 input Something or other. Some of his tones were not good.

The Jubilee has the same power section as the jcm 800 as far as I know. Obviously they have different circuits as the Jubilee has 2 switchable channels, rythm clip etc...

The VMs HDR mode is emulating a modded jcm 800. I realize it isn't an exact copy of the 800 circuit....it actually is based off a jtm 45/100 and uses kt66 tubes.

I forget what George was using when I saw him in 1984, but his tone was pretty fucking killer.

Here is a video comparing theses amps:
