Anyone score a Zzounds 2203x blowout?

Things I have learned from this thread:

@The~Kid has 10 times mentioned that he would recommend getting a friedman or bad cat in lieu of a jcm 800.

If you count other posts where he mentions one or the other, then we are getting to 95% of his posts here saying damn near the same thing ad nauseum.

Several people have noticed this. The kid is not one of them

Hey man, did you know kid prefers the bad cat 2206 and the jake e lee amp to the jcm800?

Did you know I prefer the engl artist to the jcm800?

This is valuable information and definitely contributes to the thread, which is about zzounds mistakenly putting JCM800s on sale and @skoora asking if anyone snagged one.

Chris do you have any amps that are completely unrelated to the thread you would like to talk about?

I'm sure for many these options are close enough but for others the real deal is an icon for a reason. If you haven't been plugged into a real 800 doing its thing at pants flapping volume you probably can't understand.

Given an option would be happier with either a Bad Cat or a Friedman..... Your just getting a better amp all around that does it better, probably better Built too and better Quality than an original one.

Made/Built in the USA/America too.

JCM800s are overrated anyways but thats me.
I truly think my Hermanson 5GS jcm 8000 is the best Marshall ever . You need to throw that in the mix

There are few legacy or Legendary amps I talk shit on but yeah asíde from SilverFace vintage amps or modern or vintage JCM800s......

It's just a sham.....

And its just a load of Hype and nonsense..... Why Buy over priced, overseas junk from Marshall...... When Bad Cat or Friedman offers better amps, that sound better and are Built and Made better here in America/USA and the States :dunno: 🇺🇸

A 2203x is great in the right hands.
I have an modded 2203 that rules . Do I use it as much as my modded 800 or other amps no . But it’s great in the right hands abs I use when need . But an 800 and a boost and I’m ok if that’s all I had . Honestly almost most amps that get shit on here can be good if you just set them right and tinker . It’s fine to fight about amps on here but give me any of them and a boost and a gate and I’m fine

My name is also Chris.

I’ve only owned it for a few months and maybe 4-5 gigs, but my new 2025 Diezel VH4 may be my favorite amp ever.

Nice. The VH4 is a classic for a reason. Shit is legendary, especially channel 3.

I think the cleans are a little underrated on it.

Kid would you like to post 500 times about how another, completely unrelated amp is better, a better value, etc?

Single coils into the clean channel spruced up with an RC Booster, Ego Compressor, and reverb is hard to beat. Kinda flat without though.

We all know channel 3 kills.

I’m most surprised by channel 2! It has a looser feel and more vintage Marshall kind of tone.

Every time I've messed around with one, I always liked the gain on the clean channel up really high. As long as the gain was up on it, I didn't think it really needed a boost or comp, though I always use humbuckers.

On the clean channel, I’m going for the country thing, so the pedals work well.

I mean...i am cool talking about a vh4; especially if someone lets me play one

Yeah. I really only like cleans with single coils > RC Booster > Ego Compressor.

Comp is mandatory for country clean chicken pickin

The real question is do you think it needs a boost? Seems really divisive among the VH4 guys

I really think you could cover acdc great with this channel . It’s quite dirprusing

I am super patriotic and with you on buying made in USA stuff.

I do have amps made in Germany, Italy, UK, and the USA though. 😀
