hmmm, all the people bashing axe fx, have you played it? I just got mine 2 weeks ago and had the benefit of them releasing the new version. I'm sorry to say it's the best purchase I've made and if you haven't played one you shouldn't be bashing it. I've played high end tubes the last4-5 years and I don't think I need to go back at this point.

I went through it several times with the AxeFX and once with the Kemper. The one that fit me the best was the Kemper but... yep went back.

BTW to the guy you quoted......I'm not bashing anything, just having some fun with the zealots.

I just recently sold off a bunch if my stuff and bought an axe rig. Axe 2, MFC-101, matrix gt1000fx, 2x12 of 200 watt EV12Ls. Must say, I'm loving it. Definitely had to tweak but it is easier/doesn't take as long to do so. Doesn't replace tube amps/the big pedalboard, but it does get me 95% there and I don't need multiple amps/huge boards/etc. I'm enjoying it.

Hoff, how does the Matrix compare to say running through the loop of a tube amp or a VHT 2/50/2? I have my eye on one of these.

I have to say after this latest update (V10) and two lost fucking nights of tinkering, this rig sounds like shit. I'm done. It's going to be relegated to an effects processor in the loop, just as late night jam machine through monitors, or as a fucking coaster. The endless tinkering, technobabble bullshit has finally become mind numbing.

Maybe it's because I just got my first Diezel, but I personally would rather spend time playing then tweaking shit incessantly every few months, finally getting a good tone and then having it blown up by another "update". All of course, IMHO.

while I will admit Im on the other end of the spectrum and love my axe fx II, I am getting antsy about getting another vht pittbull classic combo. The only amp Ive regretted selling and am having a bit of trouble locating. But I must say, Ive had no problems with fw10 and was surprised at how good it feels to play through a modeler. I tried all the other ones on the market(except the kemper) before making my decision, just seemed like fractal was the way to go and when I got it knew it was the right decision. I WILL have another vht at some point though

Torpedo Live- Bogner or Mesa amp- 4-5 pedals DONE. No more digital tweaking, just turn the knobs on the amp or pedals

The Torpedo Live lets you have your amp SOOOOOO you have real TUBE not imitation

Review please! Very interested to hear if it actually works in 4CM without making you want to smash it with a hammer, as my experience has been with other units...

And Kalt: congrats on the Diezel. I sold a VH4 and bought the AFXII. Kinda got frustrated with it and bought another VH4. Never even turned the AFX on again.

I'm holding out for the Reload attenuator. Much of my play time is into the DAW and using the Two Notes plug in for cab sims....but nothing takes the place of hearing it from my cabinet and I have to have an attenuator if I still wish to hear.

I believe it has the same load box as the Live and several people have stated they don't feel like it affects the feel/tone like an attenuator. What are your thoughts one that with the Live? Does it feel like your amp still?

I don't notice a difference. I think the load works with the amp very well. Not any different than different cabs to me.

That seems to be the prevailing opinion. Impressive being it's a full on load. Looking forward to the Reload's release. I'm hoping it's going to be top notch.
