Best guitar shops in Vegas

I have to go to Vegas next month for work , and I am looking for advice on the best guitar shops . I’ve been to Vegas many times , but it was always on tour and I never really had any time to actually explore. Any advice would be appreciated!

I lived there half a year two years ago and never found anything other than Guitar Center type places. Chance I will be living there again in the next few years.

Is Ed Roman still open in any form? I know his daughter inherited the shop after Ed's death and then tragically/mysteriously died. There is a lot that can be said about Ed, not to speak ill of the dead...but he did have some nice guitars.

Pretty sure Ed Roman's place and Cowtown Guitars are both closed some time back. One of my clients was looking to buy Ed's old business and there was a lot of commotion with the daughter, etc. Cowtown apparently went out of business about two years ago. Can't tell you any details about that.

Billy probably knows

Billy. Ringing Billy. Paging Billy.

wait, he runs GGF - prolly not gonna see this.

Haha I do my rounds from time to time.

Anyway, Cowtown and Roman are closed, which is good because they were horrible stores ran by shady owners.

J&E Guitars can be good, they normally have a few vintage/boutique pieces, but not always. Call ahead before going in.

The 2 GCs and the Sam Ash actually usually have a decent selection of new and used gear.

Other than that, nothing.

Honestly, Vegas is a waste of time for any serious guitar shopping. I'm happy to be out of there and don't miss it at all. So if you're serious about guitar shopping, do the smart thing, rent a car and take the 4 hour drive to LA, where there are actual stores like Trutone Music, High Voltage , Norms etc and an actual music scene.
If you must stay in Vegas, forget about guitars and play the casinos, get drunk etc.. . or just focus on work if that's not your thing. But it's not a guitar town at all..

I don't remember much being there the last time I was there either :dunno: but thanks for chiming in Billy.

Forgot you moved and Happy Holidays my friend.
