I like em all.
But its like a Merry go round which one I am sick of at the moment and which one sounds "fresh" at the time.
So I guess I dont have a favorite. Love them all.

VH1 was a game changer, but I'm partial to the tunes on this one. Takes me back every time!

VH1
Fair Warning
VHII
1984
WCF
Diver Down
New VH coming 2027....... maybe

The year Fair Warning came out I got the cassette for Christmas...it almost never left my walkman for 3 months. I took it everywhere....walking to school, after school, shoveling the driveway....lots of memories with that one.

VH1 is incredible though.

Funny I remember being in the car returning from some trip with my Dad and hearing the album on the radio. Some show that played beginning to end. The next day I had to go get the album...got it in vinyl and still have it! Thought about having a guitar done with the cover art but never followed thru with it! I killed my walkman with this cassette also Randy!

VH I & II go without saying. I would put Women and Children First right up there. Love that album (Romeo Delight, Fools, Loss of Control, Could This Be Magic?, In a Simple Rhyme are severely underrated songs)!

My problem with VHII is, for starters it kicks off with a cover song. Followed by a really softy, Dance the Night Away, and the whole album has got to be under 35 minutes. There's a couple of songs i like but it's amazing how little content was on their albums back then.

Fair Warning then followed up by Eatem and Smile since Roth did it better than Van Halen could.

EVH's undoing..................

Yeah Man, I can agree with that.
But Light up the sky, Outta Love Again, Women in Love,
Somebody Get Me a Doctor, Spanish Fly, Bottoms Up!
Those are the Highlights for me, those tunes Absolutely ROCK
I think they all hit their stride on Halen II, Fair Warning second.

they used to put out a new release almost every year followed by a tour back then compared to 4-7 years that most bands do now. In 7 years, they put out more releases than they did with Haggage, no?

Don't forget that a VH record of 35 minutes had a cover song or 2 taking up some of that space. All they needed for a VH record was 4 or 5 original songs mixed in with a cover, an Eddie solo spot, and a whole lotta AH HAH's and OH YEAH's from Roth.

My favorites are 5150, Fair Warning, and 1984. The worst is Women and Children first, or Diver Down.

I agree with Eat'em and Smile. I was a huge Van Halen fanboy back in the day. I was so psyched to get 5150. Then Eat'em and Smile was released and I thought to myself that this was the album Van Halen should have recorded. It was an evolution from 1984. The video for Yankee Rose was awesome too. I liked Van Hagar but love the old stuff.

Fair Warning for me. Mean Streets and Unchained. Enough said. I loved DLR's Eat Em Smile as well. That tour was awesome. Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan were incredible.
