BEWARE OF SIMS CUSTOM GUITARS!

Shouldn't buy anything from a company that's named after a shitty game made for normies.

Just cut your losses and put it all together. It may end up being your best sounding/playing guitar. Hopefully that’s the case…

To the OP, or others that have been swindled by this guy, there is a legal recourse: Mail Fraud.

"In recent years Congress has amended the mail fraud statutetwice. In 1988 Congress added section 1346, which states that the term "scheme to defraud" includes a scheme to deprive an other of the intangible right of honest services. In 1994 Congress expanded the use of the mails to include any parcel that is "sent or delivered by a private or commercial interstate carrier." As a result of these amendments, the mail fraud statute has become a broad act for prosecution of dishonest and fraudulent activities, as long as those crimes involve the mails oran interstate carrier."

I think it's applicable, given you've used the mail to enter into a contract, or have shipped your guitar to him from out of state...

I am taking folks advice here and i am going to assemble this guitar. It started life as a gorgeous flaw-free 2-piece Alder Body. Randy Butala calls this selection ‘clear grade’ - Then a SD profile neck with SS 6100 Frets and 12-16 compound radius. I have an EVH Frankenstein Pickup and German Floyd. A while back, I snagged a Charvel Art Series EVH case with the EVH Logo embroidered in the lid. It is stunning. This guitar will live in that case. Once i get her together, I will report back.

And I really need to say, if Pat Sims falls across this tread, the paint work is literally flawless. Even though he strung me along for a year and ultimately painted the WRONG stripe pattern on it - the paint work itself is literally flawless. The dude flat knows what he is doing. Simple communication could have saved this whole mess.

Well, you're a saint! After being jerked around by this guy, and getting the paint specs wrong... Impressive!

So, you got him to complete the guitar and ship it back to you. Do you have any advise for others as to how to finesse your communications with him, such that it increases the chances of getting him to return a guitar?

Right. Well, the site is not working with shared pages, evidently. You can find it by name and location, however. Here's a snapshot of the listing:

Holy hell! That's a fun read. This guy is a terrible businessman. It seems the only way to get his attention is to file a bbb complaint.

Particularly disturbing, are the cases where it's proven that he was lying about the progress of the refinishing to the customer all along. Discovered when he has to return the guitars/basses when doing what he has to do to resolve the BBB complaints, and they haven't had any work done to them. In one case, he was telling that the customer's basses were wet-sanded and ready for buffing and polishing.

Read your reviews but talking with Pat from Sim's I explained to him my concerns. Communication was good thru out the process. It was bid at 14 weeks but took 16 weeks but for me that was not a big deal. A $500 investment gave this 72 P Bass a new life. Maybe in the past there were issues but Pat did a Super Job and time frame was very good.

I can only tell everyone my experiences with Sim's. Isn't that what this site is suppose to be about. If you disagree that's fine but I simply call them as I see them.
