OK, I'm out of the loop on this one. Does Fortin NATAS = Randall SATAN? Are they the same circuit/amp?

I am also interested in this piece of info!!!

So buy the Randall version when it comes out. I doubt the Fortin nameplate adds too much to the sound...it may enhance forum cred though :jerkit:

Bill, is the SATAN just the NATAS with a Randall badge?

The Satan is a modified Natas. The Randall Satan that Ola currently has was built by Fortin (which is modded Natas) and has the Randall Logo on it. All the Randall Satans that will be produced for the consumer market will be made in a Randall production facility assembled by factory workers. It is still yet to be discovered for sure whether or not Randall will use cheaper internal components to reduce the price. If you ask me tho, I would say they amp most likely not be "Tank" built like a Fortin. Just my 2 cents.

The first SATAN was a tweaked NATAS. I guess tweaked to exactly what Ola wanted. The Randall SATAN will be a production version of that. Randall will release a production version of the NATAS, though it will have a different name.

I can't imagine that they bought the design with no intention of releasing it, but I have no inside info on the matter...simply speculating. Bubbastain answered the question though.

satan is not the natas... mike said in other threads that randall will be making the original natas with a new name, and theres also a meathead in the future... meeeeaaaatthhheeeaaadd :D

Hey Ben, in all seriousness, I hope DAR gets you situation resolved. That's not cool, at least contact you and give you some info. Really sad, the FBM sounds amazing. I was considering a Forza Quattro if I couldn't get a Fortin.

Best of luck,
Bill

"ferb! I know what amp were gonna play today........hey, wheres mike giovannotto?"

thanks man, everyone on rig talk has been very supportive and im extremely grateful for that

Hate to be a naysayer, but most of the NATAS clips I've heard sounded like the amp was very dry and stale. For instance, I thought Ola's tone on his first Feared album was better than on the newer one, and IIRC the first album's was done with an Axe-FX. Not an organic amp at all from the way it sounds. I could be dead wrong of course since I've never played one and most likely will never get to...

It is dry but not stale. Will show all your faults if you suck. Definitely organic.

I'll be sure and post some clips for ya ;)

How's the TJ treatn' ya? Seems like a seriously sweet piece of work as well.

It's seriously sweet. Probably my favorite amp of all time (not that I've played a lot of different ones). You gotta crank it, but once you dial it in that thing is seriously brutal.
