Just a few chords ...maybe you get some idea of what this sounds like in the room....Maybe....
That's the worst copy of a CCV I've ever seen. It doesn't sound anything like it!!! :gethim: :gethim:

:D

Sounds like a hot rodded 800 to me.

Wait 'till you hear it W/D/W :D

If this guy had posted the same clip with the tag "New Cameron modded Marshall in the hizzie!" I bet most people would be saying how killer it sounds lol. I think a lot of the Cameron stuff is a bit hyped...both the good and the bad. I think it sounds pretty good in this clip, especially at that price. Thanks to the poster and congrats on the new toy.

...thru 6 cabs,4 Boss fx pedals, monster cables and a metal pick ;) TOTAL FUGGIN CCV TONE :D

Nik told me it is a "Jose" mod, maybe based on Joe's Jose???? I'm not that technical, but I can tell you I'm digging mine...
The "un"modded mode is worth the price, hand wired 800 tones. Move the era switch to the right(YES modded 800 tones) and I LOVE IT. There are a few more controls than a basic Marshall(dual gains, dual 2 way brights, focus, resonance-or whatever the superbass is, and the left notch in the era mode, metal?, that I'm still messing with). I'm kind of busy, so it's taken a few days to get a few hours of playin' time in, and I'm in love...It is the honeymoon, afterall. $950 + shipping for the 50 watter, hmmm.

Ok first off I heard the Ceriatone Chup and had a ccv and the Chup is no CCV clone period end of story. It is a modded marshall with a jose style clipping circuit which he calls the era switch (3 way). I see the relationship in the control layout to a Fortin Cali but I never owned or heard one so I can't comment on the tone of it. If you just read Nik's description on his web site all he claims it that it is voiced like a modded British toned amp and the amp delivers that in spades, I must have missed where he said it was the end all be all amp. I'm not sure if his mod is a rip off or not but if someone has real proof lets hear it. As for now I just see it a modded marshall toned amp with killer build quality and a great price point.

I just cant think of anything to play...I apologize

Congrats on the amp. Sounds good, and for $950, it's tough to beat

Here are some gut shots of the Chupa some guys were asking for  This amp is one great amp...After having it for a week now there are so many different tones and styles of music it can do....The gain out of this amp is nuts...I was playing tonight with the both gains on 3 and it was full of saturation on punchy tone...Very tight...Have to say this may be one of the best amps i have played...Check out the work on the guts very nicely done...It shows in the tone of this amp.... .. I will have a clip up soon waiting on my new video camera...

I'm not sure about the voltages on the 100 watter but on the 50 the manual says 420-435v on the plates.. seems light if it was based off a ccv as don't they have around 500v or something?

What a great looking build though, looks very nice. DC heaters. Looks like he is hiding some parts with shrink tubing. Nothing wrong with that, better then gooping the piss out of everything.  I wish you could order with no trannys and no headshell. Awesome stuff.
Thanks Splawner!

I still don't get the amps name vs cameron thing

chupacabra is a folkloric creature that feeds on cattles blood
chupacabra literally means GOATSUCKER in spanish and portuguese
is Mark Cameron's nickname goat or something?
cause THAT would be funny
:
That would be funny, be I think it's a little more of a creative play on words by Nik. A chupacabra is also a a very rarely seen creature, and that's the part that I believe he directed toward Mark's products. Really a good move on his part, but you can see how between that and the similarities to the CCV, he would be pissed. I know I would be.

come on...
it's a BITING amp based on a latin american builders work that was usually portrayed on ads with a very stereotypical mexican figure with the big hat and everything
it could be the CERIATONE COYOTE SANGRIENTO HIJO DE PUTA DE LA MUERTE

why does it have to be about Mark?
besides being Marshall based, I still can't see any other similtary with the CCV
many amps have switches arranged like that
unless Nik made some comment about Cameron or they had an old grudge, I just can't make a connection
I doubt Mark gives a shit about this amp
and if he does, that's a real shame, being a Marshall/José ripper himself

I mostly apt to stay out of stuff like this... But this statement is completely false, and not based on facts.

The electronics shop that Mark worked for as chief tech Bought Jose's business out when Jose died... There were tons of un-finished amps half modded, many of which belonged to Major guys like DeMartini, etc. They found all the amps and didn't notice for a while that all the artists names were on the bottom of them.

Mark Finished the work... So really these were Hybrids of what Jose started, and what Mark finished... Mark just kept the mod called the Jose, out of respect.

Mark didn't Rip anything off!

Nuff Said.

Roid RAGE

The amp sounds good.
Stupid fucking name though.
There is nothing mythical about how stupid it was to name the amp,
Chupacabra........
