Peavey Classic 50 - dang cool amp!!

Peavey had a lot of great amps that went under the radar due to Marshall overshadowing them.

Another one that comes to mind is a Peavey Windsor. Could be had for dirt cheap back still in 2010s and it's a really good Marshall clone. Just kick a pedal in front of it and you're set.

Only thing to keep in mind is that it was even louder than a Marshall.

Damn, I thought that amp was thicc. But after playing cranked Twins, I can understand where you are coming from.
Most of my experiences with EL84 powered amps have been on the brighter side, even the big $ Sampson era Matchless stuff. The only one I can think of that was pretty thick sounding was the 1974x but it broke up too soon and was too wooly for me. I think I could get a nice tone from the delta blues if I had hooked up my board to it.

I played a .22+ for a long time, it really had some beef, but it was more progressive rock stuff. If I am gonna volume up, 6L6 all day.

I am a Fender man, with a Fender plan!
Get a good super reverb. The vibrolux is probably the all rounder for volume but srv/jimi/henry toans +ts pedal in the super. If you are tall it's a lightweight combo unless you got 10" jbls....
