Man just played my Peavey Classic 50 head - no pedals, man that’s a great sounding head!! If I had to play with no pedals, I think that would be my amp of choice, smokin!! Wish they still made it!

Yep! Super, super underrated.

A classic 50 was the house backline amp at a venue one of my old bands played at in tacoma

Totally flies under the radar but a great sounding amp - absolutely monster cleans, too

I have the 4x10. Bought it about 25 years ago. Great Classic Rock amp but too heavy to carry by the handle. I read online years ago where someone suggested a Tung Sol in V1, JJ in V2 and a Sovtek LPS in the PI. This combination sounds really good to me. Especially with P90's. Every time I think about selling it I play through it and change my mind.

I had one, and I've had the 2x12 50 watt combo. They do, indeed, sound great! I used to run 2 of the 2x12 combos in stereo. They really take boosts well on the dirty channel and get a great British vibe. Great 80s metal tones!

Yep, great amps. Some rehearsal room renting place had one (the 2*12 combo) next to a JCM900 and a Bandit 112 in the same room. Guess which one I always picked. 😎

People who rave about Rivera's, should try these too.

Great amp for sure. I had a 50 head and a 50 combo(used as a head) a few years ago. I actually put one on layaway at GC a couple of months ago but had life financial issues pop up. I wonder if they still have it on hold for me? I kinda assumed not. I owe another $300. I certainly don’t need another amp right now, but maybe I’ll stop by and see. If not I guess I’ll get my $200 back.

Many years ago I ran across this guy. I though the tone was amazing. I asked, what amp? He said Peavey Classic 50 and a Tube Screamer.

That does sound pretty good but it also sounds more brightly voiced, which is my experience with the classic and delta blues line.

Great amps! Never owned a Classic 30/50/100, but jammed on them extensively after hours when I worked at a music store. The 50 is just about to perfect. EVH had either a 50 or 100 one at 5150.

Peavey used to hand out these sheet pads to music store workers/dealers; if you had an idea, write it down and it would go directly to Hartley Peavey by mail. A coworker of mine came up with the Delta Blues 2x10 and Peavey wound up liking that idea and manufacturing it. I think he got a free one.

Peavey was a great company in the mid-late 90s. Fell off after EVH for sure. But would get a Classic 50 fo sho

You ever checked out a Delta Blues with the 15 in it? Man, talk about a bold thick sound
Yes, recently, but I didn't care for it. I found it somewhat thin and shrill in the high end and overall it was kind of ratty sounding. I think I'm spoiled by Twin Reverbs actually. Never thought I'd say that.

Damn, I thought that amp was thicc. But after playing cranked Twins, I can understand where you are coming from.
