I wouldn't wait 2 years for anything.

3 letters to assist you in a custom order Charvel style guitar - GMW ;)

I doubt Lee will take 2 years. I think I got mine in 10 months to a year, Charvel CS, Suhr, Anderson type of quality instruments and a good bargin.

And headstocks that would make Helen Keller second guess her choice.

LOL Thats exactly what I was going to say....the ONLY drawback of a GMW is you have a choice of Millenium Headstock or Tele headstock that just doesnt look quite right...I had this one for a while...REALLY nice guitar...

With the recent highly publicized return to 2006 QC levels, I think I'd steer clear of ordering a Charvel/Jackson custom shop instrument and stick to what I could find used or already in stock.

The several Charvels we have gotten in this year have been phenomenal. Ask barzini, ask jcmlespaul, ask voodoo rob on Trace's forum, ask quinnethan, ask Manuel on Trace's forum. These guys are big fans of what they have just received in 2013. Easily up to the quality, feel and playability levels of Charvel at ANY point in their history IMO. The unfortunate thing is I have to freaking babysit the build from the very beginning and check the specs at every stage because there is so much "spec drift" it is ridiculous, but at the end of that road is something killer. If your dealer is not babysitting your build like a hen sitting on an egg, you may have some problems.

There is a guy on the USA Charvels forum who just got a custom shop from me and he said it is the best sounding, best playing custom shop he has ever had and this guy goes way, way back and has had dozens and dozens of Charvels.

I don't know what to say about that 23 fret Jackson that everyone is going ballistic over. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad for the buyer.
The Custom Shop I got from Curt early this year and that I had Dan Lawrence paint is now my undisputed #1. Just killer! Once I settled on my normal Super D pickup it is my best sounding guitar!

Steve
Charvel and Super D is like peanut butter and jelly man.Killer combo

yeah, I can't get past either headstock myself which is kind of sad. I got mine in before the Fender C&D so I have the strat headstocks. I wish he'd sell complete bodies so you could slap on an old Charvel strathead neck, Musikraft or USAGC neck.

He used to...I have a GMW black and yellow EVH body with a Wayne strat head neck with no logo and an old non fine tuning Floyd...

You've got a couple options;

Luxxtone as people have suggested, you could give Wayne guitars a call, Suhr, Anderson and the like too! The great thing about this day in age is if you want a quality instrument, you can get it.

I agree!!! I looked into Wayne's a long time ago way back in the day. How are these anyways? You never hear much about them anywhere? I already own a Luxxtone so I am good there.

And I don't mind the Millenium headstock at all...but I'd get it un-painted with the GMW logo on bare wood.

I've owned several and my opinion is that they are hit and miss. I had one great one out of the four I owned and I had him replace it because the gold leaf in the tribal flames started turning green. Dumb - I should have just kept that guitar and dealt with the green paint... I will say this - you will NEVER find better customer service than what Michael Charvel provides...

Steve

The Wayne necks are WIDE, flat and thin in depth. The width at the nut on the 3 that I have and a forth that belonged to a friend was 1 11/16 like a Charvel or Jackson, but they feel SUPER wide...I think it's because the radius is so flat...I know that doesn't make sense, but it's the best way I can describe it.

Guy was class act and loved the Wayne guitars! Think it was #17 or something....Demartini Crossed Swords. Killer.

I wish i had the scratch to buy that orange Charvel from you Curt. I'm sure it is killer
