CoC's "Good God / Baad Man"

Doesn't seem like a bad album, but feels like it's missing a certain level of groove to me. Maybe has more of a punk influence than Southern metal?

Yeah, I've been listening to it, and it's not baad, but it's also nowhere close to being one of my faves. I think you're right that it's lacking their typical groove somewhat. I gotta listen to it some more and see if anything sticks.

A couple of songs in and it just seems like random spewed jams. No craft at all. My first thoughts were The Sword would do this a lot better
I don’t know man, I have love for COC but their ratio of good music to meh has really shrunk over the years.

As far as there new stuff, meh... Don't forget, their drummer died in 2020. He was part of that "groove" they lack. He was a BIG part of their sound. It's like Lamb of God without Chris Adler. They turned into Lame Of God.

It was in Pittsburgh. I think Pittsburgh voted blue back then but it is a blue dot in a sea of red so I don’t think he realized that most of the crowd drove in from around there. You guys need to stop worrying about what an artists says politically and just care about what they present in their art. If he said some Trump friendly stuff you’ll either be giving him kudo’s or saying nothing. So it doesn’t have anything to do with them saying it, just that you make it too much a part of your own identity to not care what they think politically. I’m definitely not a Trump fan and not a Republican voter but I love me some Nuge, think Stallone is a national treasure and Bruce Willis was the bomb yo, even if he wasn’t in Phantoms. (Jay and Silent Bob deep cut).
Shit, if Kid rock put out something I thought was slammin’ I would turn it up. He just hasn’t in a long time. I can’t stand Bad Bunny’s music no matter what he may or may not say, even if he falls along similar political lines.
Pepper shitting on Trump doesn’t make me like this new COC any more either .

Christ, I’m an atheist as well but still have a soft spot for Kevin Sorbo because of Hercules. Just don’t care about that stuff, when it comes to an entertainer. Jim Caviezel, total holy roller but I’ll always check out any movie or show he might be in.
Landman is one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.
Alice Cooper may be a demented born again but he still brings it on tour and also has quite the Handicap on a round of 18, or so I’ve heard.
